Make sure you get a "real" copy of the Operating System on CD

I am sorry, too. I think most PCs in this price range are Compaqs and people needed to be aware that they do not get a CD with their operating system. I think it's a valid point to consider.

but I don't feel your review addressed the topic of "Choosing a Computer" as much as the fact that OS software is not included on HP.

I don't know if that would be the only deciding factor for someone looking to purchase a computer in this price range. What other brands include the OS on a disk? What are some other factors that should be considered in choosing a computer?

If you add more information along these line, please let me know and I'll be glad to re-read.

a Hewlett Packard and I just can't believe they do not have phone support without having to pay long distance...It's a crying shame and when most people like me have a problem you can get lost in their online support..I fond it very frustrating and would have gotten a different computer had I realized...I constantly get error reports from microsoft and do not even know what that means..:(
