Deposit in escrow (Reply to this comment)

The landlord must hold it aside in a special account (escrow)...
Is this a MA thing? Here in MN, landlord can keep (or spend) the deposit any way he likes before it is due back, with the requirement that monies earn 3% a year interest.

I had on several occasions tenants not paying the last month rent, justifying it by offering me to keep their 1 month rent deposit. This is the reason I try to collect the depost of 1 month rent $100 or so where possible.
Very nice review.

Hi Jenn,

Well if I write a book then I'll have no stories to print here! *grin

Thank you for your thoughts. I most likely will write one some day.

Cheers,

Hello Arthur,

Since I OWN the company it is copyrighted by I don't think I will have a problem giving myself permission to print it here.

Thank you for your rating and your comment.
