Thank you ever so much for stopping by and caring enough to comment! It's one of my personal favorites and it truly wrote itself...

Not that this particular poem would qualify, but it sure seems that great pain is the best motivation for great art.

Excellent imagery: "Strong emotion recollected in tranquility."

And thank you again for being interested enough to dig deeper into my work. That means much to me, Sunni, and I do appreciate the gesture!

Your comments are too kind - not that I'm complaining, mind you!!!

Thank you, Grez.

I appreciate your comments greatly. It is an appreciation that is based on the respect I have for you as both an individual and as a writer, and, therefore, just about the deepest level of respect I know.

I'm glad to know that you read it and connected with it. What greater compliment is there?

Thanks again, my friend.

Many, many people think that they can write poetry. The vast majority of them are wrong. Thus, I find it reassuring when I find a poem that is truly worthy of the time spent reading it.

This, my friend, is one of the finer pieces of poetry that I have seen on Epinions. Kudos.

I appreciate that comment!

I found it by accident as well while reading an offering from bluehawq. Glad I found it!

Glad we found one another!

Thanks so much.

Thanks so much, Barbara.

It was actually an editorial cartoon that inspired the imagery. The cartoon was the torchhand of Liberty against a background of dust and debris.

I appreciate your time to read, rate, and comment!

PS: I'm gald you discovered my writing, too, as it has enabled me to discover yours as well! ;)

The statue of Liberty has always been a very special sight to me and as I read this piece I could just visualize her standing there watching what was going on across the water..
I'm glad to have discovered your writing!
