What a beautiful heartfelt poem! What a beautiful loving sister you have!

I too wrote a poem upon my father's death but cannot seem to share it at this time. I do miss him terribly.

Thank you for sharing yours with us. I'm sure you had a nice Father's Day and with all the beautiful memories of your Dad added with it.

Being scatter brained by nature, I can get lost in my thoughts while trying to write a quick comment. Your poem took me back to my dad. The good and the bad. The bad was almost all my fault.
Good poetry makes you think, right¿ Yours´ did just that.

If, in fact, we do live on in memories - then Dad is cutting up as usual.

:-)

Thanks Virginia, I appreciate your constant encouragement.

You are smack on, Diane.

We need to take special pains to ensure that we take no one that we love for granted.

Thanks for the words of comfort,

Last Father's Day I think that we were both still in shock from Mom's unexpected passing.

This one will not be easy either.

Love ya back,Sis.

Barbara:

We lost our Mother under two years ago.

Age is no discriminator. Being an orphan - at any age - is a sad feeling.

Wishing you comfort in your remaining family,

Absolutely wonderful. Your father - where he is now - must be very proud of you and your Sister.
I believe that nobody dies as long as they still live in your hearts, and in your memories. Through this lovely poem, he will live on with his children and grandchildren and great grandchildren - and may never die. Beautiful work.

I think your father must have been a very loving father to have raised two children as loving and caring about life as you and your sis!

This is a wonderful piece to share with us with Father's Day approaching. It reminds me how thankful I am for my own father and that I definitely should not take his presence here on Earth for granted.

Thanks!!!

I so vividly remember that day, you sat at my dining room table, and wrote this poem on a napkin. Uh huh it's almost Father's Day again, and I still miss the "ole goat" as I know you do.

How blessed we were to have him, and our blessings did not stop there. We still have each other, and that is a very comforting place to be.

I love you

of writing..Thank your for sharing it...It's been 19 years since my father passed away and sometimes it seems like just yesterday...And now with my mothers passing 4 years ago, I find mothers and fathers day very difficult. Thank God for my daughters and husband, that'all I can say..
Thanks again

"It really was nine years ago – though sometimes it seems like yesterday."

Boy I know what that line means! For me it has been eight and yet you know, there are times he could walk through my door and I wouldn't be surprised! Odd, guess you just miss someone so much you wish he could be at your door!

Great now you got me crying!

Shows how much you respected your father and the respect you and your sister have for each other.

Two great people to have on this site.
