Soulstice

The Bottom Line Ok, someone asked me to post more stuff...blame them! This one is a little...out there...but I swear it's a concrete metaphor, not random weirdness. Enjoy...

Soulstice

Like the horizon in the deep blue haze before dawn,
My soul longs to be freed from the starless night.
As the Menhirs of Stonehenge in midsummer,
I align myself with the forthcoming light.

Allied with Aldebaran, Sirius, and Rigel's glow,
I become the mysterious earthen wheel,
Driving toward an enlightened plane,
Fleeing an existence become too real.

At the peak of my heart's faith,
Like Gemini in late June,
Castor and Pollox exude their gleam
As light off a cloudless moon.

But then, slowly creeping in,
Twilight's illumination slides,
Stealing the Sun's final rays
While daylight softly ebbs and hides.

Darkness has reached its malevolent peak
And Sagittarius bends his might bow.
Arrow aimed toward my being's core,
He delivers my soul a condemning blow.

Extended night has taken hold,
As onyx envelops the sky.
Transformed in a clap of thunder,
Romulus am I.

Yet, even as my transformation becomes complete,
Its antithesis begins taking shape within;
A capricious cycle whose goal is to bereave
The equinox I seek between virtue and sin.
