| kuchinator's Full Review: Toshiba Satellite 2595CDT |
I own the 2595xDVD version. It is identical to the CDT but has a DVD/ROM drive with it and a better soundcard and video card. I got mine in August of 1999 and have upgraded it many times since then. When I first got it, it ran out of the box perfectly. It came with the laptop, ac adapter, some software and manuals. The best feature is the sound card. 3d surround sound card is incredible for a laptop. Plug it into a home theater and shake down the house. The stock version is very fast and reliable and moderatly upgradeable, I have upgraded it's ram to the maximum of 192mb, and got a new 20gb hardrive to replace the small 6.4gb. I have not had any problems with it at all, except ones that were my own fault. I did however have the springs that hold the screen up break from normal use, but they are easily replaceable at very low cost. This laptop is also very user repairable, I have made several internal repairs to everything from the AC plug to the USB port and modem connections. All these problems again were due my own rough treatment. But even with rough treatment, it is still going strong. I am even writing this review on it.
