You are absolutly right. I will admit that if you use these techniques, it will greatly help. My "Junk" email I use for mailing lists gets filled with hundreds of SPAM emails everyday. My personal email gets an occasional one or two but I have not received any in several months from that account.

You've given some good info here. However, as you said, there's really no way to beat the spam. It's everywhere and it's getting worse by the day. With real paper mail, tossing it is easy. Just chuck it in the trash. Spam, especially pop ups is more difficult. On AOL, spammers use the Instant Message system to spam you constantly unless you turn off the IM function completely.
