The Bottom Line: If you want a top notch vacuum that does an excellent job for a reasonable price then don't hesitate to buy this!

When it comes to vacuums, my family generally buys a top of the line vacuum from a reputable brand and uses it until it's death or until we've just grown to tired too look at it anymore. To give you an example, we once used the same Hoover vacuum for up to 15 years until we finally got rid of it. It was still running strong too! It wasn't until recently that we started looking into different brands of vacuums for our house. You see, our house has a nasty dust problem. I'm not sure if everyones house is the same, but our house accumulates dust very quickly and frankly we got sick of it. So we went out to buy a vacuum that would help with our dust problem by having two characteristics: A)Excellent suction power to pick up as much dirt and possible. B)Excellent filtration system to keep as much dirt as possible out of the air.

The only problem was that we didn't want to pay an extremely high price for it and that is something that a consumer nowadays can easily do with the way technology is being implemented into vacuums. Not to mention how top dollar brands such as Dyson are now becoming a standard to follow. In comes the Bissell Lift-Off Revolution Deluxe.

Features Include:
Detachable Canister to easily clean your stairs and hard to reach areas.
Easy Empty Bagless Revolution System which extends suction power for better cleaning performance.
12 Amps Maximum Power to thoroughly clean your carpets, bare floors, stairs and more.
HEPA Media Filter to capture over 99.9% of dust mites, pollens, and ragweed.
Wide Cleaning Path with more brushes a to reach more dirt.
Extra Cleaning Reach made possible with a telescoping wand and stretch hose to reach all the difficult places.
Brush On/Off Switch for bare floor cleaning.
On Board Tools such as the TurboBrush®, Crevice Tool, and Dusting/Upholstery Tool.
7 Height Adjustments
Motor Protection System which contains two washable and reusable foam filters to stop debris from entering and harming the motor.

Performance Review:

The cleaning ability of this vacuum compared to every other vacuum we've ever owned in the past is excellent! The first day we bought the vacuum from Best Buy, I tested it by carefully vacuuming my entire room with our old vacuum and then going over with with the Bissell Lift-Off Revolution Deluxe. The results were both amazing and disgusting. I filled up half of the canister within a matter of minutes! There was so much dust and dirt on our carpets that our previous vacuums were leaving behind. It made me cringe to know that we were living with that kind of filth hiding right beneath our feet. For weeks after that I tested it against two different vacuums in our household and each time it passed with flying colors.

The suction power of the extension hose is amazing. Be careful around drapery as you might suck them clean off of their holders! I use the extension hose every time I vacuum. Whether I'm cleaning the dust that runs along the edges of the walls, which is to small for vacuums to get, or whether I'm using an accessory such as the TurboBrush® to clean the stairs. You'll find it very useful and convenient, especially with all the tools that are at your disposal and the fact that the canister detaches for easy mobility makes it especially attractive.

Tools Review:

The Deluxe model comes with a few tools. First is the telescoping wand. I suppose they call it "telescoping" because of the fact that you can extend it and lock it into place like an pirates telescope. It works very well for all the hard to reach places and the locking mechanism locks down tight so that it stays extended for you. I personally like to use it to pick up my sisters long hairs from the floor so they don't get caught in the bristles (she seems to shed like a cat).

The Crevice Tool is a must. Once you put it on the small opening makes the suction even more intense and precise. I use it to clean any type of hard to reach dust and edges. The tip is shaped so that you can use it an angle or vertically.

The Dusting/Upholstery Tool gets used mainly for cleaning the interior of my car. It is a two-sided tool with one side having bristles and the other just shaped plastic. It comes in handy when cleaning stubborn car floor mats. I use the plastic side to loosen the embedded sticks and stones and the bristled side to loosen up the dirt and grime.

The TurboBrush® is genius! It's like a mini portable vacuum that can be used to clean things such as your stairs or bathroom rugs that are too lightweight to be cleaned in the conventional way. And it works so well because of the suction power provided through the extended hose. All you do is attach it to the hose and the power of the suction spins the bristles like it would on a full sized vacuum and it lets you pick up dirt and dust anywhere you go!

Maintenance Review:

Maintenance on this vacuum can be a bit messy at first, but once you've done it a couple of times it's a piece of cake. The vacuum comes with 3 filters. 2 washable foam filter and 1 replaceable HEPA paper filter. The first filter is a cylindrical foam filter that filters all big dirt particles from going into the motor and back out into the air you breath. The 2nd is a square foam filter that captures anything left over from the first foam filter. The 3rd and last filter is a paper HEPA filter which catches all the fine particles and prevents them from going into your breathing space.

Because of the 2 foam filters, the HEPA filter does its job very well and does not need to be replaced often. I've noticed that after vacuuming I have very little to no dust floating around room and I'm assuming that is a sign that all 3 filters in unison are doing their job well. The foam filters are easily taken out and can be rinsed with water, dried and put back in to place in a matter of minutes. My only complaint would be having to take out the cylindrical foam filter because you're likely to spill a little dust and get a little dirty but this is just nit picking to me. You do receive 2 backup foam filters and and extra HEPA filter I believe so you should be OK for a while.

This vacuum does come with an indicator to tell you when it's time to clean the filter. The indicator goes from green to red when it is time to clean the filter. It measures this by monitoring air flow. I haven't tested this out since I often clean out my filters to make sure I'm getting maximum suction power as I'm a bit of a clean freak. I'm not sure how well it works as another review stated that his filter was completely clogged and the indicator never turned red. I personally would rather not wait for it to turn red as I don't completely trust it and it's not a big deal to clean the filters often. A very neat feature though.

Features Review:

The ability to detach the canister from the body of the vacuum and be completely mobile is a great innovation. This allows you to do everything from cleaning your cars interior to cleaning the stairs in your home. You're going to appreciate this feature most of all. A shoulder strap is included for you to strap the canister to around your neck to make it easy to carry around with you. The Ultra Soft bumper is appreciated especially if you're like me and have sensitive walls coated with paint. The 7 height adjustments is great. It ranges from no carpet to very thick carpet and you'd be surprised how well your vacuuming session goes just by adjusting the height. The canister is very easy to take out and empty although it can be a bit dirty the first couple of times. I personally empty the canister in a shopping bag to prevent dust from flying and carefully close it and toss it in the trash. Works well with me. The fact that you can turn off the rotating brushes to clean bare floors is great. This prevents things such as hair from getting caught in your bristles.

Weight & Sound:

I know this maybe a weird category but I figured it might be important to some people. The vacuum itself to me does not weigh very much but according to research it is about 22 lbs. The canister is very light weight when detached from the body so that should be no strain. When vacuuming the vacuum can sometimes feel a bit heavy if you don't have the bristles rotating, but once you turn those on the vacuum lunges forward with force.

The level of sound it emits isn't very loud compared to other vacuums I've used. I don't have exact decibel levels but I will tell you that while using it, you can still hear your surroundings. This is nifty since you won't miss telephone calls or doorbells. I personally like to know what's happening around me at all times. The loudest component is the TurboBrush®. Once that things starts spinning, it sounds like a jet plane taking off!

Conclusion:

A great vacuum at a reasonable price. It's cleaning and air filtration capabilities are excellent and this is the most important thing to me. It has many useful features and tools to tackle any cleaning occasion. It has a very elegant look to it. I know that sounds corny but usually vacuums look ugly, cheap and don't ever match the rest of your home. Nothing like mixing fine dining with cheap plastic plates. The construction of the machine is solid. My main complaints are that the dirt canister is a bit too small and fills up quickly and the use of filters means that you do indeed lose some suction as the filters get clogged. But those are minor complaints with easy and effective solutions.

This vacuum can be had at Best Buy for $170 at the moment. Much better than what we payed for it. Although it was worth every scent.

Hope you enjoyed the review! I did my best.
