Well welcome me back from my epinion hiatus once again, its been a while folks, glad to be back! The sun is shining and I'm here on my computer writing about a coffee press.
As some of you may know I work for Starbuck's so I deal with questions about these little devices all the time and I will do my best to share the best of my knowledge with you as well.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Lets talk POSITIVES =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
-This is a simple machine; great for simple minds it can't really get much easier. First off lets start with its aesthetically pleasing design. As you can see it is not just a regular old bodum. It's definitely got the Starbuck's flare tacked right on to it. This sitting on your kitchen counter doesn't only express your love for coffee but your extremely pleasing taste. A modern yet fashionable coffee press. You fall under that heading of a "coffee junkie" with this one.
I rate this press an 8.5/10, I don't want to get too excited and go any higher then that and I will tell you why.
-The Starbucks Basic Black coffee press is easy to use and I'll give you the directions right here....
1. Grind .12lbs on #9, course grind for your bodum, which is the measurement for a 8 cup bodum
2. Dump the grinds into your Starbucks Basic Black coffee press (or any other coffee press for that matter
3. Add boiling water till you reach the top line
4. Let steep for 4 minutes (using a timer is best) to get the full taste of your coffee
5. Press down your bodum and serve (this particular one makes 8 cups
- Aside from that let’s talk cost, which is important to the majority of us. This little bugger costs about $30 dollars Canadian and is exactly what a coffee lover needs, much cheaper then any other Starbucks equipment.
- With a one pound bag of any kind of coffee it will make about 80 cups of coffee!! Wow, well worth it hey??
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- There's NEGATIVE'S Too?! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
- Alright so enough praise from me, let’s get down and dirty, which is really what were are doing. Don't let your coffee sit in these for too long, because you will obtain a nicely stained glass that is not that wonderful!
-Coffee gets cold within about half an hour, not like a regular coffee machine that has the heating plate, this looses its heat quick.
-If you break, you buy :(
What I mean by that is, you break the bodum flask, you have to get a replacement, which is almost as expensive as the original bodum itself!
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Get to the POINT=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
-Another word for conclusion!!
- I love the way coffee tastes coming out of this thing, you get the complete body and it just wraps up all the flavour rather then just running it though. I think its great and I own one! They are one of our bestsellers, and I would recommend it to any coffee lover out there!!
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Tips?!=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
-Run into a local coffee shop, Starbucks or whatever you like, if they have bodum's tell them you would like to sample bodum coffee, they will most likely be happy to. Compare this to your average coffee, you'll love the difference!
