Just heard of the Wiggles this morning... (Reply to this comment)
by smiles33
My daughter's daycare teacher just showed me their CD this morning! She had put in Yummy Yummy and I heard the Hot Potato song and asked about it. Your review fills in all the blanks now. Wow, 10 years of singing, dancing, and wiggling? That's longer than most boy bands. :)

Wiggles (Reply to this comment)

Thank you for your review, I have been looking for some books to get my grandson who will 21 months on Friday. My daughter-in-law comes from a huge family and all the aunts and uncles, etc. get him 2 to 4 large gifts at a crack, well can't keep up with those prices. But, he loves books, and want to get him something that the others probably won't think of. Just going to tell my daughter-in-law, Grandpa and I will buy the Wiggles books.

My 15 month old son LOVES the Wiggles. He can be in a store and just start singing a giggles tune. If I don't go to the next part he pauses for a sec and then finishes with the other part of the song. Today is a really cute example of how my son LOVES and knows all the Wiggles songs. I was getting him out of the car and I told him I would make him some cold spaghetti for dinner and started to do the cold spaghetti hand motion thing from his Wiggles videos. The guys are great. OH! My son's Favorite Wiggle is Jeff. I wish I could find a fan club for these neat guys because I would sign my son up.

by grahamx5
My husband is part of a Star Wars fan club. He gets lots of neat things from being a member. Some of the items he gets include stuff like a magazine copy, posters and whatever else they choice to send him. I was looking for a Wiggles fan club. I would love to do this for my son. He is 15 months old and knows all the Wiggles songs and everything. If someone knows of a fan club as such for the Wiggles PLEASE contact me as soon as possible

Emmy and her Mommy love dancing with The Wiggles! (Reply to this comment)
by brittd379
As a 21-year-old stay-at-home Mom, I was introduced to The Wiggles through my best friend. She has a son who is 5 weeks older than my daughter Emmy, and we used to do playdates all the time when she was still a stay-at-home Mom like me. :) One day, we went to her house for a playdate, and she asked her son if he wanted to "watch Wiggles". I asked her what a Wiggle was, and she said "Just watch. I bet Em will be hooked, with just this one time." And she was. After seeing my daughter's reaction, I had to know more about the show. When was it on, and what channel? Who where these four men, and how long had they been around? She answered all my questions, and pretty soon, "watching Wiggles" was part of Emmy's and my daily routine. When she was younger, she was stimulated by the fun songs and bright colors. And I myself, couldn't help but be sucked in to the catchy tunes and cute lyrics. (I have heard some Moms say they were attracted by the four men's attractiveness. Being that I'm only 21 and have never really been all about older men, I can't say that was the case with me. LOL) Now that my daughter is older, The Wiggles is the most fun part of our morning. She insists on me dancing with her to the music, and she even attempts to sing along. I have to say, the show was a little corny to me at first, but anything this fun for little kids is a good thing, and I love seeing my daughter's face when she hears any of The Wiggles songs come on. :)

I LOVE the wiggles (and Anthony) (Reply to this comment)
by noahsmama
My son is 14 months old and we are huge fans of the Wiggles! We (I mean he) watches their videos several times a day. I have even begun to Wigglecise! I figure that if I can sing and dance with them on a daily basis, I will be in great shape in no time. When my son is being difficult about a diaper change, I just sing Hot Potato and he begs for more:) No more squirming on the changing table!!! I am definitely interested in a Wiggles fan club. I was actually on line looking to see if one existed when I came across this. I don't know who is my son's favorite, but I am an Anthony girl all the way! I am glad to see that I am not the only one who has a crush on a Wiggle. I was beginning to wonder if I am losing my mind, but I guess not. I can't wait until my son is a little older so that we can go see them live. Well, the baby is asleep and my work is done. Time to go and dream about Anthony:)

Murray's little girl (Reply to this comment)
by jenb123
That cute baby is his daughter, Georgia. The lullaby "Georgia's Song" was written for her.
Thankfully, Anthony seems to be back from his 7 root canals, lol.
Murray is my fave. Too bad I'm married, just as he is.
Yay Wiggles!

how a few years make a difference.
all of my kids - 5, 7, 8, and 13 cannot stand the Wiggles. had they been a few years younger -who knows?
if ever I want them to have a half hour of TV free time, all I need to do is flip the channel when disney puts this show on and they all disappear.
great review

We just got a dish a couple weeks ago, and my daughter discovered the Wiggles on the Disney channel. We love them at our house! I'm even asking for videos from family members for her birthday!

Phenomenal Review! (Reply to this comment)
by mothermeatloaf
My daughter is an absolute Wiggles groupie! She dances and is completely animated while they perform. It is actually one of the only video tapes she actually asks for: "Mommy? Wiggoos!" How can we resist?
A great job, thorough and genuine!

This is an awesome review! While I've only been exposed to the Fruit Salad song so far - the boys are starting to show some interest in the musical aspect of it.

...I have worked at a preschool, and agree that the Wiggles are, hands down, the best in children's music.
Thanks for the very informative review and thanks for the comment on my review, as I should be writing more now that exams are finished.

I'd heard you talk about the Wiggles before but never really knew what they were all about. Now that I'm volunteering at the library's storytime for tots (where we do lots of kiddie songs), I suspected that the action songs we were doing were Wiggles tunes. So I went back to your reviews to find out more about them. (I mean, not like you need a lot of background on "Hot potato" but hey, it's nice to know. :-)
But anyway, this article was an excellent intro to the Wiggles and next week during Storytime I will feel "empowered." ;-)

I read it in Anthony's Tour Diary on the Wiggles Website. There's a photo of him with his brother Paul. Paul is also in Dance Party

This is just the ultimate guide to The Wiggles! Thank you so much for writing it, so I can point all my friends to it so they do not think that I am crazy! You know, those songs are so addicting, that my son and I dance around town singing them all the time!
So much good information. I wish you could point us to a picture of Anthony's brother. How did you find out he filled in for Anthony? You must know of some sort of fan list/site that I'd like to know about!
