Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie''s plot.
I just had to buy this movie when I saw it in the store for my boyfriend. We have been to Mexico before, and I figured he would like it.
It starts off with Angel and Carlos. They are two brothers who live in Mexico. Their family has money problems, and Angel thinks he can solve everything buy moving to the United States. His brother Carlos don't think it is such a good idea. This movie has is really funny. For example when they are on their way to cross the border a dirty truck pulls up.
Carlos says,"I don't know about this."
Angel replys, "Well what do you want? a big sign that says illegal border crossing here guaranteed in air conditioned comfort."
Then they get abandoned by their "coyote" as they call him. He takes all their money, and leaves them in the desert. Then comes their first night. They are so hungry from not eating they decide to eat the first thing they see, which is really not a good idea because it turns out to be some kind of psychedelic drug. This is really funny because they wake the next morning in their underware like what happened?
The next part of the movie is just what happens on their way to Tucson, and I don't want to give too much of this movie way because it is a very funny movie. This movie does reveal in a very comical way some of the very real dangers of border crossing and just what could happen. This movie is very entertaining for me, because there was always something happening, and it was very funny. Everything from the dancing guy who cooks steaks to the "Illegal aliens, PLEASE deport" sign this movie is full of laughs.
There is a lot of music in this film, mostly in Spanish but I think the music goes good with the movie. I really like the colors in this movie, I think the landscaping and the colors are very bright. The skys are very blue and the landscaping is very green. Sometimes I think the colors and background/lighting is very important in a movie because that is what keeps my attention.
I think this movie is appropiate for older kids. Their are some objectionable points for very young kids, like the unintentional drug use of the two when they are looking for food.
Miguel Castros acting is very believeable. He acts as the immature brother who wants to go to the United states to solve his famlies money problems, while Richard Azurdia is more of the serious brother doesn't want to go, but goes just to help out his brother.
One more thing- When they get so tired of America they want to go home they try to get deported! Everything from going up to a cop and telling them I'm illegal, Please deport me, to wearing a sign on the high way..."Illegal Aliens PLEASE DEPORT!" This movie starts as how to get to America, to how in the world do we get back home to mexico??? This movie is an adventure on getting their and coming back.
From the dvd cover - "Angel (Miguel Castro) is bored with life in his small Mexican town and plans to cross the border to live the great "American Dream". His more practical older brother, Carlos (Richard Azurdia) has no such fantasies, but decides to tag along because it might solve the family's money problems. Their journey gets off to a rough start when they are abandoned by their smuggler (Jordi Caballero) and are forced to fend for themselves in the Arizona desert. Following a strange and hilarious advernture involving cowboys, indians, psychedelics and things that go boom, the boys find themselves in Tucson, where they work as day-laborers and sleep in the park, living as social outcasts. If this is the american dream, Angel and Carlos need a wake up call!"

I don't want to reveal too much about this movie because I don't want to give it away, but it is a very funny in this 86 ENGLISH speaking , not rated dvd. It is worth watching and is very funny. The acting is good, and the landscaping is really pretty. It is a funny way of looking at such a dangerous serious issue, and I think it is (as the back of the movie states) "delightful, funny, entertaining, and VERY REVEALING ABOUT THE expericine of many undocumented people in the us.
