The Bottom Line I cannot recommend either Discount Tire Co. Inc. locations in Arlington, Texas. However, I can and will always highly recommend Discount Tire Co. Inc. in Grapevine, Texas.
Today, I was in need of tires. I (a single mother of three) went to Discount Tires, Inc. located on S. Cooper in Arlington, Texas. It was crowded, and the service men were busy in the back. The CSR's (customer service representatives) were busy at their individual stations. I continued to walk around the store. Exactly 27 minutes later, not one employee had acknowledged me. My eighteen year old son and I left. We drove further down the highway to another Discount Tires located on South Cooper, also. When I walked in, I carefully looked at the CSR's who were all busy serving other customers. It, too, was very crowded. After another long wait and no service or acknowledgment, we left. Prior to going to the first Discount Tire Co. Inc., I read grsmith's comment on the deplorable service. I had also read the response by another manager of this establishment, who is not familiar with this type of southern hospitality, I presume. I wanted to personally validate grsmith's opinion. I must say, for both Discount Tire Centers in Arlington, Texas, I am appalled about the warped concept of customer service. I was almost outraged. My son and I went to the Grapevine Mills Outlet Shopping Mall (whew!). I spotted a third Discount Tire Center. When I walked in the door, anticipating the same scenario as I had experienced earlier, I was pleasantly greeted with a smile from someone behind the counter who was servicing a customer. He took the time to say, "Someone will be with you soon, M'am." Shortly, I was greeted by a pleasant smile on a warm face. I tell you the difference was astronomical. I had not planned on spending very much for tires. I am thrifty, and I thought two hundred would be my limit. Period. Not so. I was more than happy to spend more than that, if only for appreciation for the service. Keep your head up, grsmith, not everyone is like the employees from Discount Tires in Arlington, Texas. I have to say, "ten gallon" hats off to Mr. Jeff Good and all the employees at Grapevine Mills Discount Tire Co. Inc. for an outstanding job in customer service.  |
