This receiver has the complete set of basic DirecTV features (excellent) and two sets of A/V outputs (including S-Video). Picture is pretty good, though I notice occasional compression artifacts with strong red objects with lots of motion. Otherwise, I'm very impressed with DirecTV in general.

Major complaints are slow update of the program guides (a real pain when searching for future program to record). Biggest complaint is that the program recording feature sometimes fails to stop recording. This is an unacceptable bug, but Sony claims not to have had many complaints of this. It's happened on two units that I've tried, so I think it's a bug in the product.
