I refill toner cartridges for the company I work for. I presently refill eight different cartridge types and have had no problems whatsoever. We have saved tens of thousands of dollars. I use printerinkwarehouse.com for toner.

I've had great success with bulk toner, and I save a several bucks as well.
The symptoms of your problem sound familiar. Is the 'waste' collection area of your cartridge filled up? It's a common happening. Maybe it needs to be emptied. Hope you resolve the issue.

Agreed - bulk toner not worth it! (Reply to this comment)

I am also getting "greying" on my printouts because of "universal toner". I bought Okidata 400/600 toner for my Brother printer. Now I am getting awful results. Stay away! or buy bulk toner designed for your printer. http://www.tonerrefillkits.com/ might be a good source.
