Pros: Good plan for a decent price.
Cons: Not so good service
The Bottom Line: I'm not saying it is the worst phone service but before you decide to switch your phone service to Verizon, think long and hard about it.

| sj1and0's Full Review: General Reviews of Verizon Customer Service |
When I signed up for verizon, I was a newcomer at the game of buying my own telephone service. My family had been a user of Verizon so I decided that it was what I was going to subscribe to also.
I called their company and signed up for the total package. Verizon local, regional and long distance with caller id and unlimited *69 and free service. My total package came up to $49 a month. Within a week, they sent someone to come and connect my phone.
I had no real problems with them until a week ago. I had blocked unlisted numbers from calling my phone if the number didn't show up on my caller ID and I still kept getting anonymous calls. And at the same time. it was weird because my phone started having static and I thought that it was just the phone being that it was cordless. But the same thing happened to my parents telephone. Then yesterday, I woke up and I had no dial tone with the same static.
The same thing happened to my families phone and what was even weirder was that people were still calling me but I had no dial tone.
I called Verizon and they let me know that someone would be coming to repair it between the hours of 9 and 7. I waited and waited. I decided I couldn't wait any more at about 4:00 P.M. but there was still someone home to let them in if they had come.
I walked down my block and I saw Verizon working on the phone line box at the corner and I assumed they were working on my phone but still they didn't come and knock on my door. At 5:00 P.M. I decided to call Verizon to tell them that I'd been waiting and they hadn't come.
It turned out that the guys working on the phone box were working on my phone because they called Verizon and told them that they had fixed my phone problem, though I still had no dial tone, static and they didn't ring my bell to tell me.
I'm not saying that Verizon gives totally bad service. They supply my dial tone, but at that moment I was so tempted to switch my phone company to one of those offering incentives for switching. They told me they would send someone to fix it that night and still no one came until this morning.
What a service. I pay for free service to my phone with the cost of waiting all day long for nothing.
