Mine is a P3-800 mhz powerhouse and the 15.1" UXGA screen is BEAUTIFUL. It'll display 1600x1200 but looks great set at 1280x1040. Searching the refurbished Dell Outlet pages of the Dell website, I found tons of Inspiron notebooks. The inventory changes by the minute and once you put a computer in your shopping cart, you'll only have 15 minutes to start the buying process or they'll put it back on the shelf. You have to be ready to pull the trigger but the rewards are great. The unit I selected was configured with 256k ram, 10 gig hard drive, 16 mb of video ram, 24x CD, 56k PC Card modem, MS Windows 2000 Pro, and a 3 year on-site repair warranty. Ordered on a Friday, shipped on Monday and delivered Wednesday! Only glitch is one dead pixel on the LCD. This is only visible on a black screen and so I think I'll just let it go since I don't believe they'll do much for one pixel. (I could send it back under the 14 day return policy, but I won't.) I called Dell to see if I could get this computer shipped with Windows ME instead of 2000 Pro, but was told that the refurbished units couldn't be reconfigured. I would have had to pick another system. First thing I did was blow off 2000 Pro and installed 98 se. A strong selling point for me was the great 3 year warranty. The 5000 and 5000e came with it, on the other models it was $169 more.
