Redesigned 2007 Infiniti G35: no more pain, all gain?
by mkaresh | Nov 04 '06
Pros: Much improved interior, more refined, price about the same
Cons: Less visceral than the old G35--same story, different car; ride still not great

Actually, that's only implied in the review itself. The sentence I was thinking of is in a post I made to a G35 forum. Scary how similar our evaluations can be.

One of us is redundant. I think I said the same thing in the review.

At this point, perhaps we should just consider writing a standard "more refined, less fun" paragraph to insert into each new-car review. It seems to apply to every recent redesign.

That said, I'd be willing to wager that the six-speed RWD G35 will be a very different experience. With the prev-gen G35, I drove the automatic version first, and was amazed how much more visceral and connected the 6-speed felt.
