Marvel at my famous "train rant". It's not my first and it probably won't be my last!

Poor you!

It's never fun to be stuck on a train- especially in extremes of temperature (and who'd have thought I'd be using the words "stifling" and "heat" together when describing a British summer by the way!). At least I've learnt that although our train system's crap, we're in good company!

You were quite right to point out the perpetrators of this mess the get-rich-quick Tories of the eighties, and it is going to cost massive investment and a few more bloody noses for the politicians to see sense.

However, it is not just us who has problems. I was trapped on the Rome metro for four hours in the stifling heat last year. I have been derailed outside Sydney before and have had to walk along the track. And American Amtrak is so late that they expect it. The Chicago- San Francisco came in five hours late.

However, it is more painful to see our trains in such a statue as we all remember it was a such a good railway. This is what happens when politicians and ideologies get involved.

No! I am opposed to taking the car because I believe we should all support the public transport system... no, wait... um.. duh.. maybe I'll just stay at home in future...

Thanks for taking the time to read.

I know that in the great scheme of things a three hour delay isn't that bad, but the journey itself was only supposed to take 2.5 hours. A mere bunnyhop, I thought. And I was hot and had nothing to read, which probably made me more agitated than I should have been.

Maybe I WAS being a little unfair... I get carried away, you know.

You should have took the car. It's not as if the roads are full of potholes, roadworks and completely overwhelmed with traffic....oh wait, they are.
