| lorace's Full Review: Clorox UltimateCare Premium Bleach |
Anything that says "Clorox®" has been a must in our home. I have tried other, less-expensive brands of bleach in my lifetime, and have ultimately returned to Clorox. Clorox® must mean "White."
I said that I ultimately returned to Clorox® bleach, and now Clorox® has produced another flavor of its product, calling it: Clorox® Ultimate Care.
For the fun of it, I looked up the word "ultimate" on the Internet. "Representing or exhibiting the greatest possible development or sophistication was one of the definitions, and Last or Final were other shades of it.
With that in mind, I must assume that this will be the final "new" product produced by Clorox®. This product has achieved everything they have been searching for all these years.
Indeed, the company has buffered its product, refined it to take care of its drawbacks: Spills, scent, and splashes in an unwieldy bottle.
How is this Different from Regular Clorox® Bleach?
1st ..It doesn't have the strong defining odor of Clorox® bleach but touts a fresh Soft Cotton Scent.
2nd It is not a clear liquid, but, rather, a thicker, gel-like fluid.
3rd It pours easily with no-spill features -- a splash back spout beneath a cup for measuring. It also features a nice grip-thru type handle.
4th
It is GENTLE on your whites. No more fears of damaging delicate WHITE fabrics.
5th
It can be poured directly onto the white fabric, thus taking away the dangers of pre-treating spots and stains.
How is this the Same as Regular Clorox®?
1st
It is a whitener and effectively removes stains and soil.
2nd It is not to be used (except cautiously) on colored fabrics.
3rd
.You can add it directly to your washload of whites or it can be added through the machine's bleach dispenser.
Precautions & Ingredients
The normal warnings: Eye Irritant, do not drink and keep out of the reach of children and/or pets. Do not mix with other chemicals. THESE ARE IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS.
The ingredients are listed on each bottle. There's everything in there to whiten your clothes.
The empty bottle is recyclable or may be put in the trash.
Using the Clorox® Ultimate Care.
Don't expect me to say it doesn't work. Because it does.
I gave this bottle of Ultimate Care a real fair trial in the laundry department.
Adding it directly to a load of white clothes, I found to be simple. I measured a capful into the plastic cap that comes on the bottle poured it in without fear of splashing and enjoyed the results. Really white socks, dishtowels, wash clothes, etc.
I, also, added this to the wash water when washing whites with safe-colored items, like washrags, towels, and the like. There were absolutely no spotting or bleach spots. But I made sure the water and soap were agitated prior to adding the clothes.
I treated spots on my husband's undershirts, prior to washing, and they were safely and expertly spot-free when finished.
I've always used bleach for other things. I took a stained coffee cup, added a small amount of this bleach and filled it with water. In literally seconds, the cup was spotless inside.
I've struggled with and scrubbed rust spots that get on a bathroom sink from a dripping faucet. This sink is an imitation marble, tan-colored. Taking some of this bleach on a rag, I scrubbed the spot and was surprised and pleased to see that this works! I'm sure that stains on porcelain sinks and toilets would be removed easily with this bleach.
Final Decisions
I really like this product. I know it's more expensive than what I pay for a gallon of regular Clorox® yet it gives me more freedom from fear. It is much more pleasant to use! And the bottle is really easy to handle.
Clorox® UltimateCare Bleach costs $1.99 for a 30 oz. bottle and $4.29 for a 90 oz. bottle.
I will continue to use this, but it will not replace my regular Clorox®. However, for delicate fabrics and special things that I'll think up, I'm sure, this product will serve me well.
Recommend? Oh, yes, I think having a bottle of this on hand would be a sensible choice for any household.
Thanks, again, for reading my review.
Fleishman Hillard sent me a 30-oz. bottle of this product free in exchange for my personal, unbiased, review. I am glad they did, and I thank them.
