You know, what really amazes me about this woman is that she is so peaceful. I mean, the pain of her situation is still there, but you can see a tranquility that is truly amazing.

I have not seen her in a while, since she moved and I did not get her new number to complete on my answering machine, but I used to run into her a lot.

Sheesh, if that had happened to me, I imagine I would have probably been tempted to never stop whining about "poor me" and how victimized I felt.

I hope I run into her again sometime soon.

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave comments, Jan. It is always good to hear from you.

I was really taken with this, Capri. Amazing about power-hungry people. So relieved Diane wasn't you and hope the best for her.

It's our fallen nature. We gravitate toward the wrong things- Kind of like my sewing machine which was the finest designed machine I have ever seen, but one improper charge of electricity caused a malfunction that makes the machine dead set against sewing straight. Will only sew sideways.

Until the circuits are restored to their proper operating design, the machine will continue to sew sideways and crooked.

So it is with human nature.

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. I truly appreciate it.

. . . humans seem to have such a difficult time keeping our priorities in order?

Great posting.

Back when this was going on, I had a really hard time grasping that someone could be like this, but as time went on, I saw the awful truth.

There is another woman that I know who had something similar happen to her. The difference was that her young daughter was killed in her own neighborhood by a drunk woman from the same town.

Instead of showing any kind of compassion or remorse, the woman points at her and spits at her whenever they pass each other in the small town where they live. The poor bereaved mother was on the edge of losing it.

I would not have believed it except that I witnessed it happening (the guilty woman who killed the little girl sneering and kicking dirt at the mother) right in front of my eyes.

It is hard to grasp that kind of hardness of heart for me, anyway.

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment Suzi. It is always good to hear from you.

I got so wrapped up in this Capri. Some people just don't realize how they hurt others. They are so wrapped up in themselves and blaming other people. Thanks for sharing.

My husband had a simliar experience to yours. He was hated though, because he got along with all of the other races of people. The administration hated him and was jealous.

They put him through hell to try to break him, but he stood tall until they laid him off. They had done really dirty things to lots of people, but they almost NEVER laid anyone off. They would just make up lies about them and fire them so they could not get other jobs.

After 13 years, this horrid place would not even give him a recommendation for another job, however.

There was a woman at one point whom he worked under that was identical to Meredith in this story too. Identical.

I am glad you enjoyed my story, lorace.

I have not heard from Diane in a while. She had moved and she called with her new address and the stupid answering machine cut her off. I hope to find her sometime.

Last I knew, she was keeping a tremendous attitude despite the hatred vented at her for being an innocent person doing what she was supposed to do and simply getting in the way of "meredith's" selfish actions.

I can not imagine the pain that she still has to go through, but what shocks me the most is that almost no one has any tolerance for her limitations pushed on her. She can not perform like she used to physically, and so few have any patience with that.

Even people who know of her situation have no tolerance for her being slower now.

And old "what's her name" is probably still an executive with a limo and still abusing all who stand in her path.

Thanks for taking the time to comment!

Very excellent piece of fictionalized truth, Capri. A little power has a way of changing people. I've seen it happen too many times to doubt the truth of it.

I loved the "little wisps of stress." Oh, those derned wisps. Need to sweep them away, for sure.

Thanks for sharing this.

Lorace

PS I do hope that Diane has found peace! As for the other, oh, what was her name? LOL

I do not miss working in this sort of environment (Reply to this comment)

Well it has been seven years since I was employed and I started in high school.

I worked for a minority company that hired all sorts of minorities, and I was one of two white employees. I think the worse time there was when OJ Simpson was arrested and they all thought he was innocent.

Anyway the manager was out on disability and I had to call in payroll. I got the code and everything and when the envelope arrived with the sealed envelopes the owners son wanted his check so I opened and gave it to him.

They said I was not authorized to do that, how weird is that I can change the figures and pay for anyone but not open a freaking envelope. When they did some layoffs I was out and glad.

Anyway interesting write up here about Meredith and Diane and back stabbing, etc etc.

Nice moral to the story, what was it again? Just kidding, I think.
