My mother's mum dies when my mother was only 17. I am named for her, and always felt I knew her.
Thank you for sharing this!

I also barely knew my dad's mom, especially since she didn't speak English. But I lived with my Bubbe until she died when I was 15 and I miss her. There will always be a missing link, I think, when someone you love or was loved by someone you loved dies. jo

This was breathlessly beautiful. What a marvelous tribute and how pleased she must be that you caught her as she is now - a wisp - a dream - and an ever-present reality.
I loved this and only pray that my grandchildren will be sensitive enough to KNOW!
thanks,
Lorace

I know how you feel (Reply to this comment)

as I have a similar "relationship" with my paternal grandfather who passed away when I was still a gleam in my father's eye. ;)
Even though you don't know, you know.
You don't remember, but you remember somehow . . .
You may never even have met, but you are well-acquainted.
You'll know her when you see her someday, and you won't be strangers, I'm sure.
Thanks for sharing.
