Ease of Use:
Pros:Fast burner. Good price. Easy install.
Cons:Bad software.
The Bottom Line: A good fast burner. If you get it, you will probably want to get better burning software though.
Installation of the burner was problem-free and easy. Put the drive into an open bay. Plug the IDE cable into the motherboard. Plug in the power supply. And there you go.
At speeds of 12x/8x/32x, it burns and reads cds quickly and reliably.
My only complaint is that the burning software constantly froze my system. (I have a 900mhz AMD Athlon TB cpu and an ASUS A7V motherboard.) I emailed with the HP customer support for a while: updating VIA drivers, etc. with no luck. I then learned that some of my friends also had problems with HP's burning software. I now use Roxy Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum.
(Please note that I'm not criticizing the labeling software. I have not used it.)
