You Make Me Feel Like The Amazon’s Running Between My Thighs – Romance Mix

Aug 01 '02

The Bottom Line Jam on it.

Deep down I am one of those sappy romantics that believes there is someone that will come into my life and not make me whole mind you, but make me more. You know more complete, happier, more loved, and livelier. I am a lady let me remind you, but I have needs too. I want that gentleman, in every aspect of my life but my bedroom. In the great words of DMX I need a man to keep me with a smile, and walking funny.

See, my romance is not without a little bit of nasty sprinkled in. My romance burns are no different. I wanted to share one of my favorite mixes, with you. These are heavy on the break some headboards and carpet burn some knees tip. So, if you are in any way offended by throes of passion you might want to steer clear. Seeing as how one of my favorite songs to date is Joe Walsh’s – I like Big Ti+s

Anyhow, I just wanted to share one of my odd, but doable burn mixes. I started this mix burn off a little romantic, with some…

Marvin Gaye - Lets Get It On a song that has Marvin singing to his sugar. There’s nothing wrong with giving yourself to someone if the love is true. For those who have been under a rock and don’t know this song, crawl out and get your hands all over it. Stop beating around the bush, and treat your partner to this.

Me’Shell NdegeOcello – Trust Now if this song isn’t on your top ten list, then you need to be shaken violently. Just thinking back to this song awakens so many senses “inside” me. Never has an artist touched me in so many places, pleased me in so many words, and just hit that spot inside me. The piano blending with the sexual overtone of the guitar compliment any romantic mood you want to shoot (ha) for. Do yourself; your partner and Me’Shell a favor get this song! It belongs on any carpet burns, and broken headboard mix you have.

Jimi Hendrix – Red House Nothing can emulate the ins and outs of sex like a guitar riff. I mean nothing. The last boyfriend I had could never understand my sheer attraction, and reaction to a guitar. This song got to me in a way that even made him shake his head. Jimi Hendrix could do some things to a guitar that I just die for. When a woman can feel a guitar in her very private areas, then that my friends is a song that NEEDS to be heard. The 2 and one half-minute mark is where my best loving is done.

Building on something else that drives a sexual mix for me is BASS

Working on the same nerve as a guitar riff, bass can produce some of the most pulsating, throbbing reactions in me.

Enigma – Sadness Part II has one of the most pulsating, get the juices flowing bass line I’ve come across in a while. People who have heard of this song know exactly what I’m talking about. When two bodies collide this song just seems to compliment all the movements. The chick moaning part way through the song isn’t a bad touch either. This song will not bring sadness, but gladness. Burn this in your brain!

Further adding to the bass and pulses I love in my music is another song that needs highlighting. I believe it was on the same soundtrack as the Hendrix song quoted.

Paula Cole – Feelin’ Love The opening of this song for sure gets the second wind of the sexual encounter going. I know as a woman if a man can make me feel like the Amazon’s running between my thighs, then he’s doing something right! In this song Paula Cole says just that about her lover, among many other sexually charged words. The entire way she sings this song adds moxie to it. A half moan, half orgasm in progress is the best way to describe her vocals. My obsession with this whole Amazon/thigh thing has terribly raised the bar for any suitor. Blame Paula, its all her fault!

Macy Gray – Sex-O-Matic Venus Freak any artist who can say “69 positions and whipped cream all over my skin,” ranks highly in my book. I was turned on to Macy Gray in the weirdest of ways. I was watching NEXT FRIDAY with friends, and there was Auntie Sugar dancing on film to this song. Hey if that song is good enough for a freak like her, it’s damn well good enough for the freak in me. I think the mixture of the pure nature and raw voice that Macy has gives extra OOMPH to this track. And that means extra OOOMPH in the bedroom, kitchen table ya know wherever your escapades take you.

But, right about now you want to take it down for just a bit…start mellowing out and realizing that the person you are devouring needs to look into your eyes and see you making love to them. Leading me to my next song.

Me’Shell NedegeOcello – A Tear and A Smile Me’Shell starts the song out with saying when we make love, she feels it so deeply, she cries, her lips burn from your kiss. Love is bitter, sweet and sometimes hurtful. Love is pain (no Ja Rule you didn’t originate that line), But to deny yourself the pleasure of that pain, is to love oh so selfishly. Me’Shell pops that bit of wisdom on us here in the slow, devotional song. It’s works best when you do have it on and looking right into the eyes of your lover. So for the good, the bad, the happy, the sad this song like you is there for you when you need it. Make-up sex is quite nice, as much as I hate to admit it.

Keep that gaze going as the song turns from Me’Shell to…

Norah Jones - The Nearness Of You While this song might be TOO slow for some. It works perfectly for me. This is one of those songs that work around not a bass line, or poppy beat but rather a piano and your soul. What I wouldn’t do for someone to feel this way, this passionate, this devoted to me as Norah is to this song. Her voice comes across as sultry and full of passion. Isn’t it heaven on Earth when all a person wants is to be near you, feel you skin on their skin, your tongue on theirs and so on? I surely hope to hear more great stuff from Norah. She’s doing wonders for my sensuality.

All good things must come to an end, well for this round anyway. Ending out my mix is the song that I tend to use as a basis for my loving! Some might say it ain’t over till the fat lady sings, well honey for me it ain’t over till…

Maxwell - Til The Cops Come Knockin' In this sensual, self explanatory song Maxwell wants to take you in the room, and lock you up in love for days, rocking for days! Maxwell croons about a love so strong and an encounter so long that nothing can stop it. Well maybe those pesky cops could stop it. While this song might to some fit better at the beginning of a burn it works right at the end for me. Hey, if I need more time I can always set the radio to repeat! When this track ends, just crumble into the arms of your “Maxwell”.
