| kevhayes's Full Review: Toshiba Portege 7020 |
My entire sales force of a thousand plus had been given the Toshiba Portege 7020s. At first everyone was elated with the new sleek lightweight machines. It did not take long for the guys and gals to lose "that loving feeling." The lightweight sleek design forces the use of a smaller fan to cool the machine. This translates to hot little machines that do not perform well. The fragile design also lacks in the durability department. I personally leaned on my 7020 oh so slightly and literally broke the hard drive. The speakers are weak as well so the multimedia applications suffer. The small door on the right side which is used for the phone line is a flimsy one. I am surprised that I haven't broken it yet (I'll probably break it this weekend just because I said that).
On the upside the machine runs pretty smooth when cold to medium warm. And the weight and size is good for the techs or execs on the go. If I had to fork over the asking price, I would have spent my hard earned green on another machine.
