Must have Text replacement/macro utility
Written: Jun 20 '01 (Updated Jun 20 '01)
Pros:EASY to use. MUST HAVE software for anyone using email for business.
Cons:Should have been a part of the Windows OS!
The Bottom Line: Perfect Keyboard is a great timesaver and is easy to use. At less than $30 it will pay for itself right away (Assuming TIME=MONEY, right?)
I am one of those with an online auction business, so you can imagine how much email traffic I have. Many of these require the same responses every day ("Yes, we accept Paypal. Our email address there is....blah blah blah")
Instead of typing this out every time, I just type .pp and the paragraph(s) I previously assigned to that code pops into the email reply I am working on.
Perfect Keyboard Pro (I have the latest version which is 4 and a lot more user-friendly than 3 was) also has many options, including the option to pass the macro through Windows Clipboard (This speeds things along for long macros) and the option to have the macro begin as soon as the code is typed or to wait for the enter key. You can also assign keys and customize the program's performance in other ways. There is also a powerful scripting language, but I haven't had a need for that feature yet.
PK works in most any computing application, I use it in Email, Word processing, chat apps, etc.
It doesn't take long at all to learn the basics and begin saving time right away. I save a lot of time with this program.
UPDATE I just looked at their website, apparently the price is $19.95 - I got mine a while back, thought I paid more? Rats!
