Upon buying a new home it was important to get a vacuum cleaner that would perform well. After looking at several brands I decided on the Royal Vacuum model 2025. It did not come with the attachments and they were a separate purchase for $200 more. The salesman used sand and large particles of dirt that persuaded me to go with this model along with the fact that it was an upright.
The most disappointing feature of this model is the frequent changing of belts that must be done in order to achieve the maximum results. It is difficult and I had to rely on my husband being around to do this for me, you must also disengage the belt in order to use the attachments. By the time this was all done it became very time consuming, and also the added expense of purchasing belts so often.
The motor is also very loud and would scare my dog when turned on. I would not recommend this vacuum for anyone who is elderly, has small children or pets do to the noise and the difficulty in changing the belts and using the attachments. At times I felt like a mechanic performing these chores.
It did pick up dirt well with the height adjustment for different carpet levels, but was not good if you wanted to switch to a bare floor, it would throw particles away from the vacuum instead of picking them up.
After a year and a half I have since replaced this with an Electrolux. With the cost for this vacuum I was totally disappointed.
