Customer service fails again.

I made my first purchase with Radioshack.com recently and was not impressed.
Pros:
You feel secure ordering from them
Cons:
Ridiculous prices
Shipping and handling isn't cheap and it takes a while for your items to arrive
Annoying website (Hard to explain this one, but if you feel the same way you know what I mean)
Customer service
I had to return my item because it was defective. So I called the 1800 number and explained the problem to one of their customer service reps. The woman asked for my address and said she'd send a return label to me. After a week of waiting I called back. This time I talked to a guy and he read the note the woman had left under my name. To my surprise, the note said I wasn't going to be sent a return label and if I called back I should be told to send the item back at my own expense!
I expressed my surprise to the guy and told him my problem. I also told him what the woman had said. He put me on hold for a few minutes and when he returned he told me that he'd send me a return label. He verified my name and address again and that was that. I got the return label four days later.
I received a credit to my card today... but I'm missing quite a few bucks. Even though the item was defective, and apparently they checked it because they authorized the refund, they only credited me the price of the item. I didn't get the shipping and handling fee back. So I'm out almost ten dollars and ended up having to buy the item from a store nearby anyway.
Radioshack.com isn't worth it and neither are the stores. The stuff they carry is more expensive than anywhere else, the salespeople in the stores are usually too busy talking to each other to help the customers, and when you (well, when I) ask them a question they just read off the back of the box and tell me what I already know from reading the box. Radio Shack and Radioshack.com may be very good for some... but I'll go elsewhere.
