Howard Johnson's can sometimes get a bad wrap. However, this Ho-Jo in Key Largo is really good. The rooms are nice, clean smelling, soft beds, nice decorations. The people who work there are very friendly. The pool is clean, with the Atlantic Ocean in your backyard. There's the typical Florida Tiki bar, that has great Strawberry Daiquiries. The best thing was the beach area. Small but nice, smooth sand, plenty of lounge chairs, palm trees blowing in the wind. You can snorkel here, you'll see horseshoe crabs,Barracuda's(they won't bother you). In December we swam, it was a little chilly, but not bad. We saw a manatee and calf. You can rent jet ski's here too. It's a great place for young ones or novice snorkeler's to get used to the water and snorkel gear. There's a restaurant right next door, with expensive dining, or patio for cheaper dining. While walking across we saw a black scorpion. It's just awesome the things you'll see here.
