The Bottom Line Don't get one!! Service/support is beyond horrible- it is deceitful!
I have had nothing but terrible experiences with Compaq support. You wait on hold for up to 45 minutes, then get a rude, surly, uncooperative person who won't identify themselves and claims there is no supervisor (this has happened repeatedly). Twice they have tried to deny the existence of my warranty, and made me fax them proof. Every time I have a problem (which is often, since this Presario 12XL300 is a piece of junk), it is a huge ordeal and hassles dealing with them. Once they even lied about the number I was to fax my "proof" to. I recently extended my warranty, and although the hefty charge showed up on my credit card bill, they still tried to deny its existence. I have found that dealing with the (much-friendlier) sales people and making them communicate with the service department is a little easier than talking to the service people myself. I am on the verge of reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and my elected officials. Don't anyone ever buy a Compaq product!! |
