Okay. Last year, Madden 06 came out on the 360. It was met with modest compliments. This year's edition? Well, I have many issues with it. I save up enough to get a 360 to buy Madden 07. Traded in my XBOX for the difference, along with 07 for the XBOX to get this. I wind up with a game that feels TOTALLY unfinished. Shall I explain? (Before I do this review, I'll start off by saying that I notice the way I've been nitpicked about the way I write my reviews. Let me emphasize something: This is the way I write MY reviews! Jeez! This isn't a frickin' thesis on anthropology!! It's a reveiw on a football game!! Now, on with the review.)
The main thing wrong with this game? Not alot, just some fundamental things. For one thing, in order to create a player, I got to go through a drill to do so?! In the current-gen versions, it's simple, no muss or fuss. Yet, EA Sports chooses to complicate matters. You can't edit existing players equipment, something I was used to for about 6 or 7 years. Where's the custom camera option?
Oh, did I mention it takes about forever for the game to load?
The franchise mode? The current-gen versions have a nice one. Storyline Central was nice, yet it didn't make it to the 360. The current-gen versions have a mid game save. That way, you save your progress mid game in case the game locks up. Not here on the 360 version. Why? Who the frick knows?! It seems to me that the talk of "next-gen", fundamentals in games seem to be lost. Anyway, the current gen versions are better in terms of playability and content. The 360 version isn't.
Disappointment comes to mind about this game. Developers are getting lazy.
