Very good story. Those days were very trying and sad. It would be wonderful to hear the rest of their story and how their lives came out.

Darla - I truly thank you for reading it, and your comment. Anyone who would name her daughter Ida (one of my favorite names) thirty years ago has got to be one of my favorite people. :) (I didn't have the courage to give my own daughters the name - although I should have.)

Lark - I thank you. It was a long read, and I appreciate you wading through it. As for my 100th review, I did explain it on my reply to Gasman. Truthfully, I didn't realize that is what I did. Oh, and about the review on "It Happened One Night", I never reviewed it. My daughter ArtbyJude did, although she purchased the DVD because of me, and I think I inspired her to do her review on it. On the Lynus write off, I requested that Gaelkin do a review on it - ahe suggested I do The Spanish Prisoner - which I intend to do if it ever gets here. The write off is coming up soon - on the 11th, I think. Lynus has been patient with me, and I hope his write off goes well.

Peter - Thank you. Thank you for giving me your advice, and for suggesting the changes necessary to make the story plausible. If the story is any good at all, it is because of your help, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You should have let me call you the co-author, for that is what you were.

Hello Again Gasman - Thank you for your congratulations - The truth is I didn't realize it was my 100th review. I wasn't going to post all four segments at the same time, but my daughter who actually did the "paste" from Word to Epinions crossed me up and posted them all at the same time since she knew I would be gone for about a week. Actually, I am not too proud for having been on Epinions for over two years, and only posting 100 reviews - and most of them have not been product reviews. I also seldom give bad ratings - if I don't like a review, I simply do not rate it at all...which defies the rules of Epinions. I am not proud of that - it is just that is the way I am. I appreciate Epinions giving us a place to air our imaginations though, and am going to write more product reviews as soon as I can afford to buy more products to rate. I thank you again for your loyalty, and for being a great on-line friend.

Thank you, Patti. As a child, I attended the Lutheran church for awhile - the "fire and brimstone" synod. As I grew older, I knew I needed something to believe in that wasn't so fearful. I appreciate your stopping by and reading this.

Thank you, Gasman. Peter's review did tickle my imagination, and if it were not for him and his patience in correcting some of my errors I would never have finished the story. He should really have been listed as co-author, although he declined the "honor".

Hi again Virginia,

All the best on your 100th! (Review that is:-)

That was a sneaky way to get to the 100 Reviews mark, before taking a well earned holiday. (Making this story a four part series. ;-)

Have a terrific holiday and behave yourself.

Very Cleverly Done... (Reply to this comment)

Hi Virginia,

Although I had read Peter's interesting account of the boots, after reading your story, I just had to go back and read it again.

It goes to show what one person reads with interest can inspire the creativity of another to create an entire story around it.

Very nicely done, in my humble opinion. I very much enjoyed reading this interesting mix of plausible fiction, crafted to match the facts.

Take care.

Regards,
Gasman
