Great coverage but lacking in customer service

I decided to get a cell phone because I travel a lot and figured it would be a good to have in an emergency. Plus I make a lot of long distance calls which get expensive.
Living on Camano Island, coverage is pretty scarce. I decided to go with Verizon because I heard that they had the best coverage. Having had experience with several other cell service providers I would have to agree. No I don't get great coverage on Camano Island but this was expected, being in the middle of no where. I travel up and down the I-5 coridor and can not remember once that I did not have service.
The only bad thing I can say about Verizon is that their plans are sold by individuals and I was told I would get a service free for 3 months but then got charged for it. When I called customer service they told me that it was not a standard feature of the plan I had and gave me a hassle about crediting my account for a service I had not used.
