Choose comfort!

Aug 28 '02

The Bottom Line Make sure they're comfortable, fit properly with shin guards on, and make sure they're Adidas Sambas!

When you pick out a pair of indoor soccer shoes, remember two things. First, find shoes that are comfortable. And second, make sure they're Adidas Sambas!

I just bought a new pair of Adidas Samba Classics, and I am extremely impressed, still! I have owned several pairs of sambas over the past 10 years and they're still the only soccer shoe I wear.

It's important to remember (regardless of what kind of indoor soccer shoe you buy) that the shoes should fit comfortably while wearing shin guards and soccer socks. If you don't have shin guards or soccer socks with you at the store, just make sure the shoes are not too snug without them.
Also, go with a gum-rubber sole (the tan / brown colored sole) They actually grab the surface better than other rubbers, and give you more traction while playing indoor soccer (or any indoor sport for that matter!). Plus they're non-marking shoes. A lot of gyms or soccer centers require this.

Obviously, I highly recommend Adidas Sambas.
They are extremely comfortable shoes.

I play soccer indoor and outdoor. Though I use cleats when I play games outdoors, (also Adidas) I always put on a pair of Sambas when I'm just practicing or kicking a ball around with friends.

As for indoor soccer, these shoes are the best. Like I said before, they have excellent grip on any type of surface, whether it's turf or a gym floor. They are light, and seem to make you kick with more power.

They also last an extremely long time. My first pair of samba classics lasted me 3 years. Each pair lasts me at least two years before the flat wears down. Not bad for a $40 pair of shoes!
(They look cool too. Black leather, suede toe-bumpers, and the trademark Adidas three white stripes. Very soccer athletic!)

The best part about these shoes is the comfort level. I had my last pair for 2 years. They fit me like a glove and I hated to give them up. But after wearing the new pair for a week they fit like a glove again!
These shoes are unisex. Though listed as men's shoes, sambas also come in smaller sizes and lots of women wear them to play soccer or just as athletic shoes.

If you're looking for indoor soccer shoes, make sure they're comfortable, fit properly with shin guards on, and go with Adidas Sambas!
