Pros: easy to use for those who might be more challenged cooking a Turkey/Other Meat
Cons: Bag is very light and can break through easily, hard to cut for releasing air

I have used Reynolds Oven Bags for years, and have always been pleased with the results - and the easy cleanup. They are especially good for roasting a turkey. The trick is to remember that the cooking time will be much shorter. If you do, the turkey will be much more moist than one hand basted in an open oven. Your best bet, with any roasting method, is to use a meat thermometer. Roast to 165 degrees, and let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before serving.

Everyone loves my moist turkeybag turkey (Reply to this comment)

I have been using turkey bags for over 3 years and everyone who eats with us wants to know what I do. I follow all the instructions but I cut up red apples and onions in squares to make a bed inside of the bag for the turkey to sit on. If you don't do this the bottom of the turkey will sit in the juices and not cook properly. I also stuff the turkey with cut up squares of apples and onions I salt and pepper and garlic salt the outside of the bird then put the whole bird in bag I then put pats of butter on the bird. When I cut the holes I use a sharp knife and with one hand hold the bag while piercing the bag with the knife. Cook for recommended time and you will have the juiciest bird with a slight apple taste and plenty of gravy mixings. I cook dressing in another pot as I would rather have a juicy bird. God Bless and Happy Holidays always. Bill Picon

Peggy,
Thanks for the tip on cutting the bag open like that. I will have to try that out as well. I like the brown, crisp skin although it is horrible for you to eat from what I hear. I have to have a small piece for some reason. thanks for the tip and the r/r/c!

Lyn,
For me it is almost how could you not love them? They make clean up a cinch which what I dread the most. Thanks for the r/r/c!

Hey Barbara,
I am going to have to try that since I will be using these through the holiday season. Nice idea. Yeah, I thought it was a funny category but had them added. You never know who might be interested in wanting to know they exist and make life easier!
Thanks for the r/r/c!

I love them too and have found by pouring some wine butter and Oj into the bag the turkey comes out really really moist...:)

Never thought this would be a category here...

Thanks

I used these too (Reply to this comment)

I did a test run with a smaller one on a chicken and discovered I should cut open the plastic about 45 minutes before done to get the skin nice and brown.

I do like them otherwise as it certainly does make clean-up a cinch.

I love these things! (Reply to this comment)

Simply because I cannot be relied upon to do things like basting all through the cooking. I lose track and the next thing you know... Burnt turkey! Tada!

So I really, really love these things.

Nice review.
