I've been shopping on-line at Tower Hobbies for just over a year now. Shipping to Canada is slow averaging 3-4 weeks but I've been able to endure it. I like that they always have stock of a wide variety of product most of the time. My on-line experience generally goes well however buyers beware if you ever have to contact their customer service for any issues. They give standardized pre-written responses usually quoting their policy. Their not willing to go above and beyond the call of service. I placed an order for a Christmas gift for friend. The following day I find he's order the item for himself from another on-line retailer so I email Tower to cancel. My response from Tower in short was they were not willing to cancel the order even when it hasn't been shipped nor fully charged to my credit card. They want to continue to send the order and force me to send it back as a return. How does this make sense? I've contacted Visa and they can't do anything about the pre-authorization charge so I'm moving up the complaint on the Tower corporate ladder.
This isn't the first time that I've had to butt heads with Tower Hobbies over something small. Their customer service is mediocre at best and if it werent for the availability of stock I would have gone else where. They would certainly be schooled by most on-line retailers. Dont order from Tower unless you have to. Try to order from Hong Kong or Japan
though their farther away the orders arrive in 7-10 days with little or no tariffs. Go figure?!@?!
