Great product.

The Bottom Line READ THIS. Fujitsu is a notebook that you want to buy. Quit complaining about service, read the terms before you buy. I have no complaints.
Fujitsu has a client base that is 98% happy.
The client base is mostly business customers.
People that are fairly knowledgeable and do not need their hand held.
The product itself is superior to other manufacturers, I know this from my work experience with other major notebook manufacturers compared to Fujitsu. Yes repairs are needed on some units. Failure of an electronic component is certain, it's lifetime could be one day or 10 years and is quite random but Fujitsu's rate of returns for repair compared to the likes of Dell's 28% in the first year to Fujitsu's 8% proves the great workmanship of the product. Details of these stats have recently been published from a survey in major computer magazines. Also proving the workmanship is the fact that Fujitsu has often a 3 week delay on many new units to hit the market, Fujitsu cannot build the units fast enough and does not try to, they do not attempt to hurry production just to meet demand, thus the quality is always there.
As for people who complain about service. They need to understand that Fujitsu does not offer software, or how to support, and the representatives follow the guidelines given to them. The warranty provided, is a hardware warranty, and there is never a problem getting a defective hardware serviced or replaced. Thats what they are there for and thats what they do. Calling Fujitsu tech support you will have a wait 2 minutes max.
And for the person complaining about the bios removal, its actually 150$ which is around the industry standard for a manufacturer to remove a bios password. A bios password is there to keep stolen notebooks from being productive for the thief that stole it. Do you want a bios password to be cheap and easy to remove?? Keep you employees from being disgruntled from your poor attitude and they might just let you know what the password is before they hand the company notebook back into you. Good idea?
Anyways. These are my brief opinions, maybe sounding harsh, but really they are just the facts. So to all the notebook consumers out there, I hope this helps. I feel bad for people that miss out on the great Fujitsu notebook product line, just because they read one negative response from a handful of people. But hey, the good and bad is great for all of us to know. That is what this site is for.
