Thanks Comfort Inns

Pros:Reasonable rates, clean rooms, located everywhere
Cons:None
The Bottom Line: During our recent move we stayed at three Comfort Inns, they were wonderful, clean and reasonable.

Recently we just moved across the country from Maryland to California, good ole military told us it was time to move again. Upon receiving our orders and making our arrangements for our move we had some obstacles to get through. One, we had to go to Boston for a week to see the inlaws, and two we had to go to Tennessee to see my family. What a trip we had ahead of us with a 9 year old, 2 year old, and 4 year old. Next, from Tennessee we had to go to California.

The trip from Maryland to Massachusetts was a one day trip, no hotels needed; however, the trip from Massachussets to Tennessee required a one night stop. We chose to stay at the Comfort Inns during the duration of our trip because we have had much luck with them in the past during our travels.

First we stayed at the Comfort Inn in Trouteville, Virginia. I was impressed, as usual, with Comfort Inn. To begin with, the customer service was exceptional. I truly believe if you are going to have good customer service, you are going to have a good stay ( if the rooms meet your standards, which in our case they did). The room we stayed in was spacious. There were two double beds, cable TV, built in coffee maker, built in hair dryer, and most importantly the room was very clean. When we arrived we checked in and went right to sleep, the nights rest was much needed and very comfortable. The next morning we headed out, first walking to eat at the Waffle House right next door to the Comfort Inn. The rate was $55 with military discount.

That evening we arrived in Tennessee, stayed three weeks and headed over here to California. We made our reservations from the Comfort Inn website in advance. The first stop we made was in Amarillo, Texas. Again, we had a nice room, little less spacious, but served its purpose. This time we had a refrigerator and all the other amenities as the previous Comfort Inn in Trouteville. The rate was $59 with military discount.

Leaving the following morning, we had made plans to go to the Grand Canyon and to spend two days doing so since we would not check into our room till late the first evening. We spent two days at the Comfort Inn in Flagstaff, Arizona. Let me explain a few things first. First, Flagstaff is about an hour and a half ride to the Grand Canyon. It is much cheaper to stay outside of the Grand Canyon because it saves at least $60 on a room. Second, when making reservations for the Comfort Inn in Flagstaff (if you use the website), it seems a bit confusing, but I will clear things up for you. On the website you have several different room options. One, you can chose to stay on the second floor and have a newer room for over $100 a night or you can chose to stay on the first floor for $59 (military discount) and have the same room without the mountain view. You can chose to have a room with a larger TV (27 inch) or just a 20 inch TV. To me, this made no sense to have so many different rates, but we chose the newer room, bottom floor and paid the $59 a night with the military discount. We did not care about the size of the television as long as it worked.

The room in Flagstaff was new and very small, but comfortable. It was not too small that we were cramped for two days. There is many stores and fast food restaurants such as Jack in the Box and McDonalds in walking distance. We had a nice stay and seeing the Grand Canyon was worth the two night stay. This room did not have a refrigerator or coffee maker, but did have a built in hair dryer.

All in all, our stay with the Comfort Inns was very pleasant. We had wonderful customer service, clean rooms and bathrooms. Comfort Inns are located everywhere from coast to coast and not hard to find. One more note, all the Comfort Inns had pools (which we did not use), there were vending machines, ice makers, and continental breakfast at all the Inns. I am very happy with the Comfort Inns. Thanks Comfort Inn, we will continue to use your Inns in our travels.
