I often turn off (most of) the "automatically correct" feature in word processors. (I don't mind the correction of "teh", though.)

Word Perfect can be so annoying, will replace a word they think I've misspelled. Have to get creative.

this is great information. however, you failed to instruct people on how to avoid strange characters such as myself.

My last 2 reviews were first written on Word. So far I haven't had any problems doing this, but it's nice to have your guide to help in the event that I do!

If you mess up and can't find the problem, E-mail me. I may be able to diagnose it -- although I haven't had much success with bad profile pages because the Epinions part doesn't meet W3C standards.

Hi,

I enjoyed all your information in the review. I'm going to print it out and save it. Hope I don't mess myself up though. I have a tendency to do that.

See you again.

It's possible -- with the caveat that, unless you know how to write a macro to create a macro, the smilies might have to be hardcoded to get them back in.

Ever thought about creating a macro for Word? I use the autocomplete features for my work, and changing the settings back and forth is a little tedious. I'm not good enough in macros to even know whether such a thing is possible, but it would be worth a try...

I usually type it in notepad to get the right quotes

Cut and paste into word for spell check

Cut and paste into epinions....

But I may try it your way next time (even though I've got an older version of word)
