Over priced and Slow! If those factors aren't an issue...then they're for you!

I placed my first order through Hasbro (now HasbroToyShop.com) and, so far, I am quite unimpressed by their online store. Initially, navigating their website was easy. I did find what I needed/wanted and it was clear what was instock and what was not. Their prices were rather high compared to local retailers, but they also had some things instock that my local stores did not. I utilized one of their promotions at the time and spent over $50 therefore qualifying for free shipping and receiving a free Giga Pet Explorer as well. I was excited until I tried to use my gift card through their online check-out system. It would not acknowledge my gift card balance nor process it online. I had to actually call Hasbro directly and have a customer service representative help me. He was able to correct the problem through the online check-out system. Unfortunately I chose to continue shopping (I was debating between two items but only wanted to purchase one) and when I started the check-out process again, it was not showing my gift card balance applied to my order total. I had to call customer service again to have it corrected and applied to my order. Finally, after creating an account and with a lot of help from Hasbro Customer Service, my order was placed properly on Thursday, 11/30/06.
I was excited to finally place my first order and checked online to make sure the order was valid. It stated online in my order history through my HasbroToyShop.com account that all the items I did indeed order where included and that the items would be shipped the following day, Friday, 12/01/06. Sadly, this was not the case! I emailed customer service on 12/04/06 to find out more detailed information about the status of my order and why it had not shipped yet. I was very clear about my needs and expectations in their reply, such as: was there an error in my order, was there an item(s) that where out of stock, is there a more accurate shipping date I should know about? Unfortunately, their reply was only this:
"Dear Customer,
We apologize for the delay. Your order is being processed.
Sincerely,
HasbroToyShop.com Customer Service Center

Luckily I received email confirmation that my order finally did ship out today, 12/05/06 (five days after my initial order), but there is no information as to how this order is being shipped. There is no way to track this order to have an estimate of when it will be received other than their standard guidline, "Allow 7-10 business days from date shipped." This lack of information leaves me feeling uneasy. I would like to have some way to track my orders because it's the time of season when boxes are more likely to get lost or delayed. I'd rather have more information available to me so that I do not feel left in the dark about what the status is. I also prefer being home when it arrives instead of letting packages sit on my door step. Nowadays when I shop through online stores, they are more thorough to include more shipping information and tracking which just gives their buyers a little more piece of mind. Sadly, this isn't the case with HasbroToyShop.com. I feel that if I'm going to give a company my business, it's courteous to show me that my order is important enough to have information about where it is and when to expect it.
I will gladly update my opinion when my order does come to let you know if it was delivered in a timely manner, if it was complete and if there were any other factors that my change my decision about this company.
Tentative Bottom Line: I will most likely not shop with them again. It doesn't seem worth the headache to me to worry about when my order will be processed and when I'll receive it, especially when I may be spending a substantial amount of money on purchases in the future. I know I can pay less in my local stores for the same items that they are selling online at HasbroToyStore.com, not including shipping (if applicable). And their Customer Service was not very thorough, meaning I didn't feel like my purpose for contacting them was always achieved &/or respected. At this present time it isn't worth the risk or desire to give them my business in the future.
