Pros: Once you are online, you have great speed and it is reliable.
Cons: Windows ME is super slow loading
The Bottom Line: If you are upgrading go with the Dell Dimension 8100 as it is fast, easy to use and eliminates many of the problems with AOL.

The Dell 8100 with the backside cache is a great computer. It has eliminated the problems I had with AOL locking up on me when using both a 56K modem and a DSL. I type very fast and answer a lot of questions online, so the backside cache allows the computer to not freeze up and I stay connected.
I am not a big fan of Windows ME as I do not see any improvements over Windows 98. The only thing I see is that it is a great deal slower when loading.
Dell is a great company and if you do have a problem, their tech people are able to help you work through it. It the past I have had to have a zip drive replaced, and they sent a technician out within two days with a new one.
A person can not go wrong either price wise or quality wise if you purchase a Dell.
