Still thinking about the relevance of Kenny Greene's life and death
by tigger500 | Oct 13 '02
He was a major talent, with major potential and minor to non-existent love and support. For shame.

Kenny Greene interview July 2001 (Reply to this comment)
by arttee
Here is the interview...between Jamie and Kenny.

Here's Kenny:
J...Hi, Kenny. You sound good.
K...Yeah, You know I have AIDS?
J...I know. How long have you been in the hospital?
K...It's been a long time.
J...What? A month?
K...Yeah.
J...How long have you known you had AIDS?
K...I've known for a long time, but it's just...I sprained my ankle and this ball came under my foot like a bruise and it just swelled up to the size of a tennis ball. It's called Kaposi's sarcoma. It's an AIDS related disease.
J...How long ago did you sprain your ankle?
K...Like October.
J...So after the ball came up under your foot, what happened?
K...I was walking around on it and I should've got help from the VA hospital.
J...From the Veterans hospital? Why? Are you an ex-soldier?
K...Yeah. I'm not active now but I was in for three years. I was in the Army.
J...You're kidding?! Well, how old were you when you just kept walking around on it?
K...Yeah, I should've went to the VA hospital and got it taken care of, but I didn't know what it was.
J...Well, didn't it scare you?
K...Yeah.
J...It did, huh? Well how did you get the AIDS? was it intravenously or are you homosexual?
K...Yeah, I'm homosexual...Well, I'm bisexual. I had two girlfriends.
J...Do you still like girls?
K...Yeah.
J...Do they come to see you?
K...Yeah.
J...Well what happened with INTRO? What label are you all on?
K...Atlantic.
J...Who was it that signed you all to Atlantic?
K...Kevin Woodley.
J...Have you seen Kevin?
K...No, but he's supposed to be coming by to see me.
J...So what have you all been doing? You all stopped recording when?
K...We did another album called "New Life" on Atlantic. We started on a third album, then I got this AIDS thing, so I had to come in the hospital.
J...Are the guys coming by to see you?
K...Yeah. Jeff Sanders hasn't been by lately, but Buddy comes by periodically to bring me food because I was hungry.
J...You're hungry? Isn't that a good sign?
K...Yeah. You should've seen me last week?
J...Well, Kenny you sound positive. Do they think they can cure this AIDS or not?
K...Yeah, they're taking care of me.
J...What are they giving you?
K...AIDS medicine.
J...Are you getting stronger?
K...Yeah.
J...Do you think you can come out of the hospital eventually?
K...I transfer somewhere else when I come out of here, but they said it's going to take me six to nine months to recover. So I'll be in a wheelchair.
J...You'll be in a wheelchair for the rest of your life?
K...No, I'll be recovering. I'll have a nurse and everything.
J...Can you walk now?
K...No.
J...Are you scared?
K...No.
J...Not at all? You don't sound scared, either. What part of your body is affected now?
K...My legs.
J...Do you have sores on them?
K...No.
J...Well what's wrong with them?
K...There's no strength in my legs 'cause I've laid in this bed so long.
J...So it's not because of the disease?
K...Yeah, it's because of the disease, too.
J...Are you in pain?
K...No, because they give you pain medicine.
J...Who's taking care of the hospital bills?
K...Medicaid. There's a program that my social workers worked out.
J...Well you're very fortunate. Now how did you get AIDS? Do you know the guy who gave it to you?
K...Yeah.
J...Is he still alive?
K...Yeah.
J...What do you want to tell people out there about the condition that you're in row?
K...Keep protecting yourself with condoms and don't have unprotected sex.
J...Was this guy that you were with a constant partner?
K...Yeah.
J...Is he in the hospital?
K...No.
J...He's okay?
K...Yeah. He's a carrier.
J...What does your mommy say about this?
K...She knows.
J...Does she feel like you are going to come out of this okay?
K...Yeah.
J...What do you think you're going to do once you come out?
K...Sing gospel music because God changed my life around.
J...I think this is very brave of you to come out and say that you're got AIDS. I know people who just didn't want to admit to it and didn't get on dialsis and didn't want to talk about it because the Black community is in denial about AIDS. Do you agree?
K...Yeah.
J...When you come out, are you going to have sex again?
K...N.
J...Not ever in life?
K...No, because I still have AIDS. I'll just be recovering, unless the Lord makes it that way and sends me someone special in my life. Then I'll have sex again.
J...You'll have protected sex.
K...Yeah.
J...But you wouldn't want to give it to anyone else.
K...No.
J...Did your friend know he had it? Did he know he was a carrier?
K...I think...He's a nurse and he works in the hospital and got stuck by a needle by an AIDS patient. He took care of it real quick but then there was one period where we had unprotected sex when he was sick.
J...How did he take care of it real quick?
K...I took him to the hospital.
J...Wait a minute; he got stuck by a needle that an AIDS patient had?
K...We didn't go the same day; we went the next day. I took him to the hospital and they gave him some medicine.
J...But you all had unprotected sex in between that?
K...Yeah, then he started buying condoms.
J...He started buying condoms after the AIDS incident?
K...Yeah.
J...But you all had sex in between that?
K...Yeah.
J...Before he brought the condoms?
K...Yeah.
J...Kenny, why did you all do that?
K...I don't know. That's what most people who get AIDS do, have unprotected sex.
J...Right, but you knew he had been stuck by that AIDS needle and you didn't have a condom. What were you all thinking about?
K...I don't know?
J...Do you all think that it won't happen to you? I'm just wondering what kids think about: "It's not going to happen to me?" Or, "I can just do it this one time?"
K...Yeah.
J...So he was the carrier and you were the one who got AIDS. Were you angry with him?
K...No.
J...So when did they tell you that you had AIDS?
K...When I went to LA., I was in a Jewish medical hospital and they told me I had HIV and I was positive.
J...Did you go to the hospital because of the ball underneath your foot?
K...No, I was in LA a long time ago, like a year and a half ago.
J...Oh, they told you that you were HIV positive then? Okay, when they told you that you were HIV positive, why didn't you get...
K...That's what I'm sayin'. I probably had it a long time ago, too, 'cause we were having unprotected sex when I wrote songs and used to have to go out to LA. and I got teseted when I went to LA. because they said I was sick. So that's not the first time that I had to go to the hospital because people would say I look sick.
J...So when you went to the hospital, they said you were HIV positive...I'm trying to get the order of everything. Is it hard for you to remember?
K...Yeah.
J...So, Kenny when they said that you were HIV positive, did you get any treatment then?
K...No.
J...Why not?
K...A long time ago when I was in the military, they took me to the hospital to get tested because my glands were swollen. They said that's a symptom of HIV.
J...So you may not have gotten it from your partner.
K...Yeah, that's what I'm trying to say.
J...Okay, but you don't think you gave it to him?
K...No.
J...What was the name of the song that was INTRO's hit record?
K..."Love Thang" and "Ribbon In The Sky".
J...What part did you sing?
K...Lead.
J...Let me hear it. Can you sing?
K...No.
J...Ah, Kenny. Did you do alot of the writing also?
K...I did all of the writing.
J...I remember you all sang to me. Now when you're well again, what do you think you want to do?
K...Sing. I wanna do gospel.
J...Can I call you again, sweetie? Are you getting tired?
K...Yeah.
J...Alright, baby. You take care.
Kenny: Alright.

I written this article word for word so as fans...you can make your own conclusions. Also check out Facebook and chat with Jeff and Buddy. I chat with them alot on Facebook...my name is Theresa Pollard BKA Sparkle and I'm on Facebook too. I did deep in getting news on Kenny and had to change my opinion big time...especially on Jeff. This is Sparkle Time Again.

I found more footage on Kenny, his friend Clinton was giving a interview.

Type:Clinton "Buddy" Wike Jr. of Intro on Kenny Green/New Music. [on youtube]

He talked about the time he met Kenny in the army and how he played a few piano cords and Kenny just start to sing and how Jeff came into the group with his talent. [Nice interview] Also you will laugh, because Buddy asked Kenny who was a good singer in the music world he like and he mention himself??? [something like that] Just listen to the interview, with my mind and old age I forget alot. [smile]

I still miss this group so much, but they're all in our prayers and now that I hear news about the group, my opinion towards Jeff is not so harsh anymore. I have to remember I'm a fan and not judge anyone, because I wasn't there to know anything. But I will say one thing, if they come to Baltimore, Maryland I will go to the concert.

Well, I will chat later Fans!!!! As soon as I find anything about the group, I will let all the true Intro Fans on it.

Peace and Love,
Sparkle,
We will see you soon Intro/Kenny. Wink, Wink!!!!!xoxo

This is Sparkle.

We will all miss Kenny and I'm glad more fans are connecting to any website to find more information on Intro. Since, he passed I continue to listen and look at there photos, just to remind me There Is A Way to keep the faith and holding on. Kenny's music was about love and how to be passionate with one another.
A example of my story....
I met a friend on my job [I know bad idea] and we went out and one thing lead to another. In the mood of passion I played Kenny G [Song Bird and Don't Leave Me by: Intro]. When a few months passed he started acting alittle different...meaning: he had to leave, come back later [you know the clues]. It was on a Saturday, back in 2006-I was doing my hair and he had just left, called me up and sayed...by the way you know I have other women that I talk too.
My first reaction was to cursed, but since I didn't feed into it, I told him O.K. and I hung up the phone. Everyone at work knew I liked him but noticed I wasn't saying anything to him...just turned my head and looked the other way. So you know co-workers...than he start playing Intro-Don't Leave Me and Mariah Carey. I was cracking up laughing, because everyone was singing and coming to me. So I put my headphones on and tuned everyone out. Eventhough, he sayed he was sorry, I told him you're not forgiven and did my work, and just stayed to myself. He really tried to make a mends, but once you violate the love/truth I've for you with someone else. I just move on.
The reason why I love Intro so much, because there songs always remind me of my relationships. How you handle hurt, disrespect, emotions of feelings and what to do next. Eventhough, I love Intro there are other artist/singers that touch me as well. But it's something about there music, that give me love and hope in my heart. Right now I'm really hardcore with men, the ones that lie, and treat women bad. Not all men just some---and yes I made bad choices. I have to look into myself first, before I can judge anyone and my mistakes...but as you get older you learn.

Well, I hope you feel free to write any comments or give fans a heads up on news, because we will miss Intro-especially Kenny. [It's that voice] Also, it doesn't matter about your personal life, because that's there business...it's the talent.

Peace and Love,
Sparkle

Here I was awaiting, just hoping that he would be doing something new. I had no IDEA that he died over 8 years ago. That is a shame, because I was really excited about his talent to produce, arrange and perform. Man, I'm shocked! In regard to his sexual preference who cares? I agree that an artist should be who they are and able to produce and express themselves. I am not Lesbian, but love Meshell Ndegecello's music. She is hella talented and nobody can deny that. Hopefully we will all stop imposing our own beliefs that derived from our own upbringing and superiority complexes.

Hi, this is Sparkle[Theresa].

Thanks for the information and responding to the fans about Intro. What taken you so long to make a comment, I love to hear any news about the group. To this day I respect there talent and not there personal business, eventhough we as fans have our own opinion. Certain things about Jeff we as fans didn't know, but in my case I love to hear more, and more news. I want more pictures etc...
I'm just a fan that can relate to there beautiful songs, but you know Jeff/Buddy better give the fans up to date news. Also, we as true Intro fans are not gossiping, we read and respond to everyone's opinion. We all have our own opinion, but whether or not Jeff couldn't take seeing Kenny only 2/3 times, is not acceptable. That's when a person want to remember there friends, by just being there until the end.
Since you know them so well, who was there for Kenny by his bedside, before God told him, it's time.

If it wasn't for my daughter letting me hear there music, I wouldn't have ever known the group Intro.

Well, keep us posted and tell us more...I could care less about who started the group. I want to know who was there for him.

Peace and Love,
Sparkle Wink, Wink!!!!love you Intro fans.

Re: I miss Kenny Greene (Reply to this comment)

I was an A&R at Atlantic records from 1991-1999. When I first heard INTRO at Atlantic records I knew we had a good thing. These guys were so humble and ready to put in the work. I was one of the A&R on the project, and spent many hours in the studio watching these guys collectively put lyrics together. Although Kenny was the primary writer, Jeff and Buddy had a big piece in putting songs and especially subject matters to the song. These guys knew what they wanted. Jeff who was already connected to the streets was already ahead of the game. It was him who wanted the sound of Intro to go in the direction it went. Remember Kenny was in to HOUSE MUSIC, but Jeff quickly changed that and said “WE ARE HIP HOP, and We will do something no group is really doing" Singing on hip hop samples. It worked, and with the songs like "LOVE THANG", and "LET ME BE THE ONE", even the song from there 2nd Album “FUNNY HOW TIME FLIES" made it to 50 cent who currently has a song out using INTRO's music and vocals.

The recording group I.N.T.R.O. is and will always be one of the slept on groups of all time. These guys collectively are some of the most talented guys you'll ever meet. Jeff Sanders son of a pastor, quit, but very business orient. His strong personality fights for the group. His strong tenor notes laced all songs with perfection, and always misunderstood when people think they know him. Clinton “Buddy" Wike who is laid back, quit, and talented as well, sang the bottom more deeper notes to give it depth. Buddy along with Jeff and Kenny all are great writers and arrangers. Buddy also played the piano as Jeff did drum programming and engineering. Kenny was a hell of a writer, and arranger who often asked Jeff and Buddy for vocal parts when recording. All these thing collectively made INTRO. One thing you guys have wrong is Jeff Sanders Started the group, as Buddy sang for him. Buddy knew Kenny from the Army, and he and Jeff brought Kenny to NY. Jeff was and is a growing force when it comes to business. One thing Jeff is, misunderstood, and he is ok with that as he mentioned many times.

Look I’m not in the business of taking sides but you guys are just fans and I helped make these guys who they are as an A&R. Once again Jeff never did sing a low note or a deep note as some fans mentioned. He's a tenor, and a very good one. All the pretty notes, it's him. Buddy did sing the bottom deep notes but he can sing as well. The live Ribbon in the sky performance is Jeff singing the vamp out with Kenny. Jeff also visited Kenny Green in the hospital 2-3 times, but couldn't handle it due to loosing 2 brothers not long before. Fans look, until you know these guys personally, your words are being hurtful. These guys don't run there myspace pages, these guys don't have the time to even do so. All you all can do is gossip, but not know there struggles. It's a shame how FANS think they know, but truly DON'T. Once again FANS you all got it WRONG. All members of INTRO were and is equally talented vocally and producing wise. I think some of the women clearly are upset for the wrong reasons.

Also to neither make this clear to ALL OF YOU, The group respected Kenny Greene wishes to not talk about his situation nor entertain what people expect the guys to do. Kenny said, the industry didn't really care about him, so why should he want them to care about him when he's gone. You all should reflect and say to your selves, do we really know these guys? Not everyone can talk about Kenny's situation as you won’t them to, and that is none of your business to know. It's Jeff, Buddy, and was Kenny's business. Intro's Business. These guys are putting that behind them and planning on moving forward with the group as directed and expected. There may never be another Kenny Greene, but there will always be an INTRO...

Re: Re: I miss Kenny Greene (Reply to this comment)

I HAVE TO SAY YOUR WRONG ON THAT. AS AN EMPLOYEE OF ATLANTIC RECORDS FROM 1991-1999, Jeff Sanders of the group Intro did not have a deep voice. He actually did sing the top notes and the pretty notes. Buddy did sing the bottom notes, but all 3 men were and are very great singers. Each member worked great together, and saw that Kenny was more gifted in writing even though they all were as well. The guys knew there place, but Kenny was a stronger writer. I do know Kenny was not a producer, but eventually got credited for production. I know and saw with my own eyes, Jeff and Buddy are great producers. So before you down any member of the group, you should have all your information correct. I was there as an A&R to see these guys create from scratch in the studio, and they all played a KEy part in making great music.

I also wanted to add, Buddy and Jeff had know clue Kenny was Bi sexual, and would'nt have gave a damn if they knew. These brothers hearts were as pure as it comes.

Hi, this is Sparkle.

I was cracking up laughing about your comment about, Jeff. Just like I sayed, shirt off etc..., but Buddy is the one who can sing. Jeff has a deep voice, but he wasn't close to Kenny like Buddy...and Buddy could sing. I really heard about Intro from my daughter teen years and never stopped listening to the group. Than in a few years I had my personal issues to solve and wonder did Intro have some more songs. Than I found out one of the members died, which was Kenny. Now, all I do now is focus on his love songs, wear my picture earrings of the group everyday as well as listen to their songs everyday. {I don't miss a day} Kenny was just a talented singer that could write/produced and sing. Anytime,Stevie Wonder gives you a o.k. on one of his hit songs...You Got It!!!
Yesterday I viewed Michael Jackson memorial...I wished Kenny could've made a great impact, like MJ. And also shared that much love with his fans, would've been nice. I was crying off/on, but I was looking at Kenny, because he was on my wall. Than I just smiled and sayed, there goes two of God's greatest talent beside him now. [and I just start to smile] Both of these men had their personal issues-there business, but no one on earth can touch or come close to there talent. People can only imitate, but not recreate them...they were God gifted.[and that's special]
Jeff have to deal with himself now, and in the videos he proved the dancing/sexual moves...but wasn't the voice-only Kenny/Buddy.

Well, continue to find more information and keep the fans posted. Jeff middle finger to me means: a ugly disposition/nothing positive. So maybe someone needs to tell him to put that finger down and go to Kenny's grave site to talk to him personally...why he wasn't there for him at all. [only Buddy...I hope]

Peace and Love,
Sparkle
Kenny and MJ are there now in heaven chosen by God. [It was there time] He knows there true fans will never turn there back...Wink!Wink!

Hello,

I commented a few years ago and I was strolling through my favorites and came across this page again.

Every now and again I get an urge to listen to Kenny sing. I'm glad there is Youtube so that I can go online to listen to some of the songs and look at the videos.

I read a few comments to see what others had to say. I wanted to say a brief comment on Jeff.

He has a personal myspace page and I've commented on it and left a message and he's been rude! He didn't even post my comment, but he'll post some almost buttnaked woman's comment like he is the man!

How is he proclaiming he is a "man of God" when he has a picture with his middle finger flashing the camera and looking hungover. So much for being godly! smh!

When I found out that he was basically a "replacement member" of the group and the original guy went to the military, he lost credibility with me. Honestly, I don't know if he can truly sing.

I can see Buddy having more compassion because he was an original member. The guy who was mentioned as the new member is no longer apart of the group according to their new myspace page. The person's name is Jon Williams.

www.myspace.com/officialintropage

They also have some unreleased snippets mixed in with either the former new member or the current new members voice (lol!)

There is obviously a distinction in the songs. You can identify which one is Kenny and which ones are not!

Hopefully this info helps and please post links to articles. I need to catch up!

Thanks!

Hi, this is Sparkle.

I'm so glad that all his fans still think about him and miss his music. I listen to Intro music everyday and the song...Ribbon In The Sky is so deep and only two people can sing that song. [Stevie/Kenny] You can feel the vibes of harmony coming through to touch your heart. Eventhough, Kenny was ill he continue to perform his singing career by helping others. I just wish a tribute or something nice could've been done in his honor. I didn't know he passed away until I aked someone about are there more Cd's from Intro. Once I found out and read more about him, I was deeply hurt. Not because he passed away, it was how he was treated about his illness. It's so sad how people act towards you when you're sick, whether his secret lifestyle or not he still was a man with great talent. I never focus on people personal situation in the celebrity world, just there talent only. If I find out more news on Kenny, I will continue to keep fans posted.
Kenny will truly be missed by his true fans and read everything on this site about Kenny and you will understand alittle more about his personal situation/life.

A voice silenced too soon! (Reply to this comment)

Hi all,

I recently filled out a survey regarding my favorite singers that have passed away. After Donny Hathaway and Marvin Gaye, Kenny Greene is number 3 on my list!

I remember bumping Intro's first cassette tape from the day that I got it until the tape broke! My favorite songs are Come Inside, So Many Reasons, Don't Leave Me and Ribbon in the Sky. Now I am a Stevie Wonder fan until the death and I hate when people cover his songs, but when I heard Intro's version, I was blown away! The harmony on that song is amazing.

I don't know what it is about Kenny Greene in particular but i'm constantly drawn to any infomarion about him. Maybe its because it was such as shock that he had passed away and that he had passed away from such a horrible disease. I shudder to think about the agony that he had to endure in his last days and my heart cries out for him.

He will always be one of my favorite singers and I wish he was still around creating wonderful music. RIP and you will never be forgotten!

Hi,this is Sparkle.

I know the recession and job problems are getting everyone down. Just pray and tune in to your favorite group for a little pick me up inspiration. I listen to Intro every single day before I go to work, just a pick me up, before entering the building. Than I listen to WRBS in Baltimore, Maryland a up beat christian station to ease any stress or anything, being working with the little ones. [Yes, I'm a Toddler Teacher in childcare] And of course they're busy, but it's fun watching them talk and do funny things.
Anyway, tune in if you can and write comments about anything....I miss my Intro fans.

Happy 40th Birthday Kenny We Will Celebrate Your Life (Reply to this comment)
by arttee
I want to wish Kenny G-Love Greene a Happy 40th Birthday today..................................

"We Will Celebrate Your Life"

Hey Baby it's your day, do you know you are 40 years old and still looking sexy everyday.
I remember back in the day, watching you sing and wearing that high top fade, with the parts and the cuts inside that can spell out your name. [Remember Kenny to see your name in your hair or group was the style]

I didn't know you could move your body that way, kicking it with your friends and smiling our way.
Everytime you sing it's always a passionate song, coming from deep with in your heart.
I know you earned your wings from God by now, whenever you get the chance fly down, just for a moment and a wink of a eye.
So I can know you are always by my side.
Still singing your songs for me and your fans, giving us hope for love, and happiness in these troubling times that just won't past.
If it wasn't for you and the love that you bring, my life now would be sadden each and everyday.
I love your videos, and dancing so much...boy could you kick it and move your butt.
I'm laughing and smiling while writing these thoughts, because it's a celebration of your love of life that I will never part.
I will miss your smile when you sing and the laughter of having fun in watching every video Intro ever made.
The love of life is why you were born, to take us in another level of dimension of sex, to keep our relationship strong.
So on this day Kenny, It's All About You......because you were Intro and the leader of the group.
I appreciate your intimate, sexual, erotic and passion for love songs, without these feelings how could I love.
If I didn't have these feelings I wonder how my life would be today, and you told us how to express love by being free and safe.

Happy Birthday Kenny and fold your wings down, and enjoy your 40th day.
So kick back, relax and send more love songs our way.

Love,

Hi, this is Sparkle.

I will write a poem for my celebration and love for Kenny G-Love Greene and I hope everyone will like it.
Kenny's birthday is Saturday, January the 17th...close to mine on Saturday, January the 24th...I will be 49.
I know if Kenny was still living no matter what kind of music he would sing, I would like it forever.
I noticed what is so strange to me....I have to share this...I have met men that look like him. The ones I met heard of Intro and Kenny, but didn't understand why I hold my heart and say...Oh, God...you look like Kenny. Eventhough, they look at me funny, they just smile and seem flatter.
Anyway I just want to share my interesting moment with the fans, also Intro will be going on tour. So you decide how you feel about this matter.

Well I have to go now to create and get my thoughts together about my celebration to Kenny. I really wish his friends did the same, and had some kind of special never forget birthday celebration for Kenny/his fans as well.

Peace and Love,
Please hold on to love and family in this situation of hard times. Try to stay together as a family and everyone work together. I'm still grateful for my job as a childcare teacher and I'm praying everyday for everyone not to lose their job and there livelihood.

Love,
Sparkle

I want to wish everyone a safe, blessed and loving holiday season for the year 2009 and our troops a safe return home now. [It's time for them to come home and get adjusted with there family and soul. Especially all the tragedy they've seen and experience in the war. [Let's Pray for them as well]
I would've written sooner, but I was in surgery...yes...getting my tonsils remove. It's hard to talk, so I've been resting and getting back into the swing of things. [Trying to do paper work, writing my poems, thinking about the toddlers on my job...hoping they're not giving my co-teacher the run around/ignore treatment etc...] Yes, children at that age are very wise, but keep you laughing alot.

Well I have to go rest, so everyone just love and no hate...just peace.

Peace and Love,

Hi, this is Sparkle. World Aids Day is here to stay!!!!

You are so very right about this situation. Seems like to many people are scare to get tested, in my case I don't mind and so far I'm negative and get tested on a regualar basis. Since, I'm single I do ask alot of questions to a new friend, if they don't like what I'm telling them or what I'm asking....Oh,Well. The problem I find today is lies/hidden secrets...just be truthful and goodness will come to you, by God. I just wish Kenny was careful and honest and no matter what the outcome was, we as dedicated fans would still love him anyway. [especially me]
Kenny we all made mistakes and some mistakes were not our fault/unbearable to talk about, in our life time....but we understand. [Especially me, but my situation wasn't my fault, but I'm dealing with it]
Being truthful and honest towards any male I've ever met, whether they don't want to be my friend or not...my life still goes on and I will continue to honest/lovable as can be...but that's just me.[I focus on the positive, in life not the negative or drama...I try very hard to be cheerful]
So anyone that have been in a hurtful/harmful situation and it wasn't your fault; just don't hide away and give up on life. Just focus on doing good/be honest and truthful towards anyone you meet and you will surely be Blessed by God...and your good family/friends.

Now, fans continue to love and get tested for your own health/life and anyone in your present life right now. Take that test for a healthly life with your new friend. Not to get tested and making excuses...are called:hidden secrets of lies. [which means... this person isn't worth it]

Peace and Love...and I'm thinking about you Kenny, always. I will never ever stop unless, I die...but I'm here right now until it's my time.

I think of Kenny Greene often, but today is a cemented reminder of his passing. I ask that anyone who reads this comment will get tested today and take a friend or family member to be tested as well. Please " Know Your Status". Let's diminish the number of AIDS related deaths worldwide. Ignorance is not bliss. Awareness and knowledge have to be at the forefront in the fight against AIDS. Knowing is better than " not knowing ". Also, make wise decisions involving matters of an intimate nature. If you're not going to be celibate, make a conscious effort to ask your partner of his/her HIV or any STD status. Honest COMMUNICATION is crucial. Don't leave your life in anyone else's hands. Take responsibility for your life. If you're truly a Kenny Greene fan, protecting yourself is definitely one way to honor his memory.

Hi, this is Sparkle.

I want to wish everyone a safe and blessed "Happy Thanksgiving Holiday." Here is my way of saying, Kenny I miss your smile, on Thanksgiving Day.

Kenny's Smile

When I look at your picture, I see your face,
Smiling at me every single day,
I wonder who do you see, while making a video and dancing so free,
Whenever I look at your videos, I just noticed your face,
I see you so happy singing and loving life like you're here today,
I noticed whenever you're singing, you look up in the sky,
Kenny can I ask you a question? Do you see God up there in the clouds with a twinkle in his eyes, smiling and looking down?
If that's so can you send a message for me; tell God thanks for his blessings and looking out for me,
I just want to say "Happy Thanksgiving" and continue to smile my way.
I love you Kenny G-Love Greene, my Sparkling Angel Man in the sky. [You're the only one that can bring tears to my eyes, and cheer me up at the right time]

Just a short poem for Kenny, so he will know that he is truly missed on "Thanksgiving Day, 2008."

Peace and Love,
Devoted Kenny G-Love Greene Fans,

Re: Love Kenny Greene (Reply to this comment)

Hi, this is Sparkle.

Thanks for the comments towards Kenny, and yes if maybe he could've came out with his personal business than maybe everyone could've understood him better. Kenny's situation was more complex...meaning: it was more of a sex choice that made him sick. My only wish was if he knew his friend was injuried from whatever situation, maybe they could've stop/talk and came up with a solution between the two to be more safe. They both made a choice that ended not only Kenny's life, his friend as well, if he is still living. Kenny will always be in our heart and mind, especially mine, because I understand what he was dealing with but that [I don't think it will happen to me] just came to reality too soon.
Just continue to listen to his songs and look at Intro's video's whenever you have time. Right now his two group members will have concerts soon, but I just can't see them at this time, because I feel one of them could've sayed or done something nice for him, while he was living before he passed to the hand of God.
It's just something about Kenny that keeps me on the internet writing about him/finding information that just cheers me up. I could be out having fun, but instead I rather lay low and write and look at videos of Intro, just to hear his voice. It's something about his voice that cheers me up and whenever I'm sick or depressed I look at Kenny's picture/listen to his songs and I just forget about my sickness/being depressed.

Well, I have to go now and continue to write about anything dealing with Kenny, so all his fans can chat in.

Happy Holiday
Peace and Love,
Sparkle

Also, please read the sister2sister article about his situation, it could've been either the sore under his foot/his sex life. Even so Kenny was still a good man in my opinion.

I still have my Intro cassette. Yes, i said cassette. When I found out he was sick and dying that really touched me. There are so many artist out there that are afraid to be themselves. when I read this article on him, it just made me think of the ones that did let the public know about who they are. Luther Vandross was gay, but his music moved everyone. Straight, gay or bisexual, there was no way to deny his talent. I will forever be a lover of INTRO's music. R.I.P Kenny Greene.

Kenny News and Happy Holidays!!!!! (Reply to this comment)

Hi, this is Sparkle.

Once again I found more news...another song not release on the album, but on youtube someone recorded it so we can listen to by Kenny/Intro.
Type...Intro"Never Again"[1994single]RIP G-Love.
You will see a video scene with Intro/Stevie Wonder, but listen to the song it's nice. It make you think of your relationship with someone that either cheated on you or something else. All of Kenny's song has a meaning to it, I feel and this is only my opinion that this is what Kenny was dealing with in his relationship.
Just listen carefully to the words whether it was a man/woman this is reality.

Well I have to go now and if I find more information I will tune in and I want to wish everyone a Happy and safe Holiday and continue to pray for our troops and world peace. I'm asking God to watch over everyone this year, please fans watch over your family and friends and think about Kenny G-Love Greene that gave us such great music from his heart.

Hi, this is Sparkle.

I'm so glad our Kenny fans are reading all the information I can find. Really, didn't Jeff comments on the interview made you mad.[But that's Jeff] He has to remember eventhough, he's a background singer with a deep voice that is not in demand these days. [not like Barry White, he could sing alone] If you were to look at some of there concerts and listen to Kenny/Buddy singing live than Jeff [always off key]. Another thing when a person is sick no matter what the illness they lose weight and not the way they normally look, but you care about who you see now and just love them even more. I have Kenny's 2 cd's the first one he's builted and the second one he's slimmer down, I still love him and he still look fine/sexy. Now in this last 1995 appearance on NY Undercover, he lost alittle more weight, but his voice is unbelievable great [nothing changed]. He was alittle sad and like one fan sayed deep in thought, but still managed to do his job well and that's his God gifted talent singing. I wish I could just touch his face and just hug and kiss him, thank God and the fans that found his videos so I can go down memory lane and still keep him with me all the time. Everyday and not a day go by that I'm not wearing him/the group as earrings/necklace decorations everywhere I go. This is my piece of mind before going to work and my everyday routine. I have nothing but ocean scenes and Intro/Kenny all over my apartment. One thing I appreciate is Buddy, just look at there videos and read his comments about Kenny. He is married, going to college to better educate himself and he has 3 children [all boys] that's a good man. [and hopefully he will stay on the right track] Jeff just need to slow down and look around and pray to find out what is really important in life. [instead of looking for a fine a** wife/get a good homesome woman that wants something out in life that will work with you and not cheat/run the street and not about money]. If that's all he want in life, they're out here in Baltimore etc...and on drugs so he needs to pray, talk to God/Kenny and choose good or bad. [and that's my opinion]
Anyway, just keep searching for more information look at his videos [also...stop the video while looking at it, print it out and blow up the picture or take it to the store for a tee shirt print] and he will be with you all the time. I'm a artist/I sew and always have creatived ideas on doing something I like to keep forever. You can make some trendy outfits just wearing Intro/Kenny. You can tell I love Intro!!!!my daughther is like oh, mom where are you going to put him next. [but she's the one that had there cd, I didn't know nothing about this group until I heard [Love Thang and Come Inside]. Please don't get me started on that song and Don't Leave Me. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Well I have to go now, keep Kenny's spirit alive. And when you're having a not so good day, listen to Kenny and tune out the negative stuff...it works for me.

And whenever you read something about Jeff...in reality he has to come to terms with Kenny on his own. [than he will understand himself much better and get away from that negative talk]

Peace and Love,
Sparkle

I was up late last night till about 5 am trying to find info on Kenny or view live performances, this month, my Intro cds have been in heavy rotation in my cd changer, its almost like he is still here, and although I never met him, he was on my mind, and i was just thinkin about what his last days were like and what he had the potential to be had he not left us so soon..I read that article Blastfrom the past Baller status, where Buddy and Jeff were interviewed. Buddy seemed to be so humble and you could feel the sincerity of his answers, you could tell that he and Kenny had a special bond, all Jeff was talking about was how now they have this Kermit guy and Intro's going to be touring etc, nothing about paying honor to Kenny, and the b.s about why he didnt go visit him because he didnt want to see him "like that" is bulls**. if that were his mom, dad, any other member or relative would he have shunned them like that? i think not, it was originally just Buddy and Kenny in the group and as far as im concerned they should have kept it that way. Jeff's vocal skills are even that strong, I know that Buddy is the truth, because I was watchin a live performance they did of Ribbon in the sky, and Kenny asked Buddy to "help him sing it" and Buddy did just that, Jeff was off on the sidelines with his non singin self waiting for the next opprotunity to take his shirt off, i guess he had to do that to get himself noticed because his vocal skills werent strong enough to make you want to pay attention. I want to keep Kenny's memory alive, I feel that he was a phenomenal singer, songwriter, arranger, producer, i dont care what kind of lifestyle he lived. I just wished that it was practiced with more precauton because he may have still been here with us today. I miss you Kenny G-Love Greene, RIP...we love you baby

Hi, this is Sparkle.

That was so nice of you to send this comment. Now I know I'm not the only one that miss Kenny. His music has a indescribable sound, inspiration to everyone that loved his music.
Soon Buddy, Jeff and Kermit will be on the music scene and I really wonder, how much love the fans will give to them. I felt if they could move on with the group, why not pushed for the music industry to acknowledge Kenny while he was alive. Once again I feel that he would've appreciated the love from everyone that called themselve his friend, instead of being put down about his personal life. I feel he gave so much of his artistic talent to so many people and in return, nothing. No love and caring, just turned him away like a homeless person. It's like when you're sick/down on your luck everyone turn there backs....but have some money to share. [That's when you see the phony people come alive and smiling up in your face]
If any Kenny Greene fans go to see the group, let us know about there sound and did the fans give any love.

Again fans thanks for writing and search for more information about Kenny. Kenny's birthday is January the 17th, and mine is January the 24th take a Kenny day off and remember what he did for his fans appreciate the love of his music.

Hi, this is Sparkle.

I want to say if you have more details about Kenny Greene, please let me know more. I just want to know everything good or bad, because he deserve to have the best and from what I've read from comments from fans...hardly no one really cared. It was too quiet and hush, hush a God gifted talent of a man, had a secret/life of his choice and seems like everyone turned there back on Kenny. In my opinion...he didn't seem like a negative person-just pleasant.
Anyway if there is more comments, please share them with me, because I cared and I never met him, but love what his songs are about...meaning: true to life and coming from his heart.

Well, I have to go now so share the love of Kenny with his favorite fan.

Hi, this is Sparkle.

Thanks for watching his video. It was something I wanted to do to celebrate his new life with God. Plus, it was a family scene that brought this video to my mind. The sexy ones are alittle different and not appropriate for his celebration of new life and love with God and the angels. [Smile]
We will save those videos for another time.

Peace and Love to all Kenny Greene's fans.

Hi, this is Sparkle.

I just want to say it's Wednesday, October 1, 2008 and the love of Kenny's music is still alive. Eventhough, the years of Kenny being our Sparkling Angel Man in the sky, his legacy of love is still with us. I written something special for Kenny on his occasion this day, because he is and always will be with me spiritually.

"Your Dream For Love"

Your dream for love, is something special and deep within our soul.
Your dream for love is special if you're young or old.
Your dream of love is a vision of passion and beauty for all to see, the vision you want for us now is love and peace.
Your dream for love is for everyone to share with that deep feeling in your heart, because you care.
Your dream for love will always be within my heart, because if it wasn't for you Kenny. We would hate instead of love and in return this is my wish for you... to continue to sing your praises of love, beacuse you was the man that started it all. If it wasn't for you, Intro wouldn't became my favorite group. So now it's your day to celebrate, because this is the day that you decide to let God lead you his way. I'm so lucky to know you are near, watching us all, and sometimes shed a tear. A tear of joy to know we love, Kenny G-Love Greene from Intro, our man full of love and passion.
I hope you never forget your fans, because this one fan, is never sad.
Thanks, for such beautiful lyrics, that I will as well as your fans, will always cherish. You can never ever be replace, because we love your spirit and voice....especially that wonderful smile on your face.

So this is my poem of words just for you, because this is the day, that all your fans will remember...Your Love Of Music and we adore you.

Peace and Love,
Sparkle

Kenny I want you to know, that you're in my heart and I will never let you go!

Hi, this is Sparkle.

It's so good to hear that Maria Davis taken care and helped Kenny while he was sick. I will do more research and try to contact her, so hopefully one day I can come to one of hers event. Now... there will probably be more information about Kenny and how his fans will react to the new member of Intro, once the group start singing at clubs or concerts. I'm not trying to put them down, but I probably wouldn't felt this way about the other two group members, if they could've, spoke more about Kenny. Try to encourage the music industry to acknowledge Kenny and what he did for the group and other artists. It's like everyone should've got together while he was sick to cheer him up, everyone that called him there friend. Eventhough they knew his situation they could've did something special for him, so the whole world could see his great accomplishments. Kenny probably could felt better knowing that everyone cared and not focus on his lifestyle/personal business. Sometimes people focus on a persons lifestyle/personal business and forget about there talent. I feel that Kenny knew about his situation[illness] and if only people would've been more compassion about his situation, it would've made his days here more special. I'm like this....once you've done your job[work], than once you leave work is your own personal time/business and not anyone's else. The problem I see is going to happen with Intro is....Kermit Quinn and this is my opinion...is going to sing one of Kenny's orginial song and in a instant/you going to visualize seeing Kenny. And once that happen a strange feeling will start to come over you, mark my words....because if it was me it would happen. I would only see him, that smile and listen to that passionate voice. Only two people in the world sung "Ribbon In The Sky", that could really sing....Stevie Wonder, and Kenny Greene. If you look at the video and listen to the conversation between Kenny/Intro and Stevie Wonder, it was great. And for Stevie to give his approval to another artist for singing one of his hits...is a honor and to be truthful Kenny tore it up.[I wanted to say 7734, but it's not appropriate][smile] I still hope someone out there could let us know why such a nice person and I never in my life met him, but he had to be nice and special to help others. I want to know why? he had to live from place to place. He wasn't a plague,[just sick], because who hasn't been infected with something in there life time. If you haven't than o.k, but if you've be real. Never turn your back, because one day you might need the help from that same friend. I have a silly idea for Kenny Greene fans....on his birthday January the 17th and October the 1st....take a day off, just for Kenny.[It might be silly...but try it]
Look at one of kenny's video select a picture of your choice and take it to be printed up on a Tee shirt or hat....be creatived and trendy. This is our way of showing and saying Kenny, we love you. Also, remember on October the 1st it will be 8 years and we still think and love him even more.

Well, once again I have written alot and fan4kennyforlife, keep us posted. Let me do some more research, my problem is Buddy/Jeff I would love to hear in detail there story. I know far as them being men, it's hard for them to really understand kenny's lifestyle/but never turn away from a friend...just talk and be there to help. In doing my research Buddy did help, so if someone out know something we don't know, please let us know in detail.

Keep in touch fans....and thanks for the love for our Kenny[My Sparkling Angel Man], that's high in the sky.

Peace and Love,
Sparkle

Hi Sparkle,

I'm so glad to hear that there are Kenny Greene fans out there who still love him, miss him and keep his name and accomplishments alive, even though he is not here in the physical sense..I also wanted to let you know that there will be a tribute for Kenny in NY in October, sponsored by a company that promotes the New Jack swing era of the 90's.. More details to come.. Also, i wanted to let you know that i share the same hunger for more information about Kenny as you, and it's such a shame that there is hardly any info out there about him. However, in my search for information about Kenny, 1 name that i keep coming across when i do a search for Kenny is Maria Davis, she is a AIDS activist who is very active in the NY area, during my research i have came arcoss some articles that say she cared for him during his sickness and was with him, when he passed away. She also does tributes/memorials for him every year around his birthday (Jan. 17) in NY at a club called the sugar bar, during her mad wednesdays showcases. I definitely think she is the person who is most knowledgeable about Kenny before, and during his sickness.. Sparkle, i also wanted to let you know, that you can email me personally about any info that you find on Kenny. 1 day, i hope to put together a documentary about Kenny and his life, and his contributions to the music world that the rnb world loves to sweep under the carpet. Until next time. God Bless!

I'm So Sadden And Puzzle! (Reply to this comment)
by arttee
Hi, this is Sparkle.

I guess I'm sad, because Kenny had to move from place to place while he was sick. I don't understand why his family members couldn't help out. I don't understand what was so wrong, that no one could help. No matter what is going on in people's personal life, love of a person should've pulled the family together to help, Kenny. I looked at the movie "Philadelphia" and eventhough, he lived a certain life style, no one turned their back on him and his friend. Just by me reading this comment, was worse than the Sister2Sister interview. Kenny had a God gifted talent for making lyrics come alive from love and he helped other artist with there work and no one cared to help.
I guess I taken this comment to heart, because I don't think he wanted to be sick, but it happened and they just kicked him to the curb, like a homeless person. It was like he was a stranger, that was down on his luck and asking for hand-outs. Living in strange nursing homes and no one to check on his whereabouts in his condition. [Why???]
My comment is...What did he do or say so bad, that made family, friends and group members turn away? [Can anyone answer that for me]
This is my opinion...Kenny didn't seem to be a bad person helping others, so why no love? [Please could someone answer this for me that knew him, so I can understand this situation better]
I would appreciate a truthful and honest answer whether it would hurt or not. [I just want to know]

Well, I have to go now. I'm just kind of puzzle. Eventhough it has been seven years, the truth needs to come out, so fans can understand, because we loved him so much.
I know everyone probably think I have no life always writing comments about Kenny. But it's like it's something different about him, that makes me want to know more. I'm a teacher in childcare, and even in my line of work I have to do investigations to get my lessons ready and plan for the children.
So in this case of Kenny's I just want the truth.

Peace and Love to all,
Sparkle

Hi, this Sparkle.

Thanks so much for the private information on Kenny. Wow, I can't believe how people can turn there back, once you become ill. Eventhough, I'm just a fan and I was sick and missed the Washington D.C. concert. I wish I could've seen them, especially Kenny. What and where were his family and friends, oh my God it's like he was all alone. Eventhough we all make wrong decisions in our life, me as well and sometimes have to pay a price. [How could people be so cruel] Whatever decisions or choice of gender/no one should be alone. I know from the information you written, no family was involved...no mother/sister/brother or cousins/uncle or aunts/grandparents. I want to cry but I can't and I'm not angry, because this is how people treat you. Whether you're famous or just a plain individual. I'm listening to his music that's in my computer, while I'm typing....it relaxes me. And after reading this and so glad that God gave him that talent and he's at peace and with him now. God taken him sooner so he wouldn't be in anymore pain and not hurt from the disappointed from others that called him his friend. I hope his last breathe was....Thanks. [meaning...I'm ready to go now]
Please don't feel hurt, because you didn't make it in time. Just remember what he told you personally and you keeping in contact with him, before it was his time. Also, where was his associate a big question mark for him??????
Kenny did so much for people and in return *****!!!!![I can't say the words]
Again, thanks so much for the comment and the love and that's who Kenny was about in life. Just want to be loved and appreciated, like all of us, especially me. I'm glad to keep his memory of love, and good comments alive and thank Tigger500 for starting it all]
Kenny will always be my Sparkling Angel Man in the Sky with God and the angels.

Well I have to sign off now, thanks for sharing and anything else come to mind. Even a moment you remember special about Kenny, just write and I'll appreciate the thought. I record his videos and put it on stop to make earrings/necklace. I wear it everyday and when someone ask...I say, this is Intro my favorite group and I love Kenny G-love Greene and some of my responses are...Oh, I remember them...Love Thang/Ribbon In The Sky and what a voice. So it's my trendy style and I'm wearing it well. Also, I write poetry about love and relationships non-fiction, the truth....my past experiences and about men that treated nice and my tribute to Kenny. I have a beach scene and focus on looking in the sky for a peace of mind. Once I get my poems together/copyrights I'm going to publish them and my tribute to a few men friends/Kenny will be read for anyone that likes the the real truth about being in a relationship and not fake stories.

Peace and Love,
Sparkle

I know I written alot, but when it's about Kenny sometimes its hard for me to stop.

Dear Artee,
My date written 2001 was a mistake. It was 2000 and he became ill while at home with his family in Mobile. His hospitalization was at The University of South Alabama Medical Center. After becoming strong enough to leave Mobile, he headed back to New York because Kenny wanted to get back to working on music. When he became ill again, he stayed with a female friend of his from Jersey until she could no longer bear him up in his situation. Kenny then moved in with a member of his group and family (won't mention the name because of privacy) and he reached a phase in his illness whereas a sore on the bottom of his feet incapacitated him, and he could no longer walk.

When Kenny became too ill to care for himself and all other roads came to an end, he became a patient at the Rivington House Nursing Home in NYC. I kept in constant contact and I tried to encourage him everytime we talked. He later asked me when was I coming to see him. I told him it would be the second week in September. He replied:"that will be too late". I encouraged him and told him that it wouldn't because I know Kenny was a strong brother. I really felt bad because I couldn't make it there before he passed. Kenny shared so much in confidence and to air everyone's dirty laundry would be a violation of what he stood for as a person. His memory and what he deposited in so many lives is more important. The essence of life includes growth, and with that in mind, we all must continue to examine our lives and work out our own salvation.

Finally without this, no one can ever live in HIS sight: L. O. V. E.

My comment is for amlikehim, April 17, 2003. I want to know the nursing home in NY city Kenny was in and can you share information about him. For example did his group member come to see him, was famous people there was he alone etc... Also if he died in October 1, 2001- I am confused about the November, 2001 date.
Just share any information about Kenny to his fans. The truth and positive comments, no lies, because we all loved him and want real information that we can find on the internet. I guess I take Intro-Kenny G-Love Greene information to heart. He was a undescribable talent of a man that can't be replace. Someone can take his spot to sing, but it's the voice and personality that counts, and you can feel the vibe. Kermit Quinn the new member is a singer, but it's not Kenny. [It's all about the voice, a feeling of a vibe that you can't describe].

Well, I have to go now, but if you come across any information about Intro's Kenny. Share it with his true fans.

Peace and Love,

We both love all his songs, and each one touched our heart. Where has music gone to these days, there are only a few singers in the music world that sing about love. The other songs are degrading and don't have a positive meaning.

Hi, it's Sparkle.

To add to your comment, isn't that the truth. Man I miss him and the group, the music he was making was more mature and reality. Each and every song I listen to touch my heart, because I have been in some of those situation myself. I don't live to far from my job, so I walk in the morning listen to a particular song...There Is A Way. Everytime I hear the lyrics... Funny how the problems arrive everyday at your side I know, they're sometimes too much to take. When the hope you have is gone, and a love to hold on to. Keep your head up to the sky. Though I know it may seem. It may seem to be, you can't see your tomorrow, but you just[ keep holdin' on] And you be strong, cause I know there is a way if we try, hold on. Hold on to your dream, it's not bad as it seems. Hold to love, keep lookin' up to heaven above. Hold to 'til tomorrow...There Is A Way.
That song no matter how I feel or depressed...cheers me up every morning and as I'm walking, I look up to the sky. But I also have to stop and look around. [smile]
I appreciate you responding, because I know everyone is busy these days and whenever you or anyone have the time. Just write or check out the videos, I'm so glad Buddy was a good friend and if you take noticed in the videos...they always have that connection. Jeff liked to dance, and take off his shirt/or have no shirt. My opinion not too much of a connection, plus Buddy could sing.
Just listen to that song for a minute and it's the truth....whenever there is a problem.

Kenny G-Love Greene will always be with us and especially with me. I look at life and relationship totally different now.

Well, I've to go now, but I enjoyed the chat.

Peace and Love,
Theresa[Sparkle]

Hi, fans.

I found more videos on Intro again. I typed in Jeff Sanders name on myspace and found 2 soultrain videos in which they sung....Love Thang and Let Me Be The One.
I know everyone is busy these days, but let's not forget Kenny, his music cheers me up everyday. Because love is out there for everyone, we just have to be patience God will show us the way.
Now I have to go, but soon as I find more videos or information I'll share it with the world. I just wnat to say whenever I look at his videos and see the laughter and fun, because he was close to buddy. If you noticed in his videos, buddy could sing and they were good friends, until the end.
I wish we could turn back the time to good music and not trashy songs and putting down one another. The world would be a great place and full of love.

Well, I have to go so.

Peace and Love and pray to God everyday for happiness.

Hi, this is Sparkle.

Once again God let me touch the right button and I found another video.
Just type....YouTube-Shinehead-Try My Love [1992]
Intro look so young and having fun in this video, check out the legs [ladies]. Since they were backup singers for Shinehead, they really shine. In alot of the videos I noticed that he was close to Buddy and at the end just watch the vibe of smacking hands. It really cheered me up and I'm still smiling. It's like God has a plan for me to get more and more information on Kenny and I love sharing it with the world.

Well, I have to go now, and soon as I find more news on Kenny, I'll share it with his true fans.
Also, we are giving Kenny his tribute, just by our comments and information, since the music industry doesn't want to do it.
Love you, Kenny.

Peace and Love and continue to pray for our troops and no war.

Hi, this is Sparkle.

Once again touching the wrong button and I found another video with all the back in the day singers. The video is....Black Men United-You Will Know. A sound track from "Jason Lyrics" movie.
It was hard for me to find Kenny, that was, because his hair is a sandy reddish/blonde color??[smile] Intro is to the left side, near Dino-from H-Town. Check out the video everyone is there from the 1990's, I almost cried seeing Kenny, but it cheered me up to see him singing with everyone and enjoying himself. It's like he didn't have a secret and everyone loved being around him and the group.
Well, hopefully I'll find more videos and news, by touching the wrong button. But God must be guiding my fingers, because he know I love Kenny and showing me more and more about my Sparkling Angel Man in the sky. [It really cheers me up]

Peace and Love everyone and pray for no war, because if it comes to that, than the world is gone. And we will be with God and Kenny in the sky.
So, let's pray for peace and happiness and not hate/to fight.

Hi, this is Sparkle.

Thanks for the information, I printed it out so I can read it better. The new K.Quinn I told you can't compare to our Kenny, but the world as to find this out on there own. I understand the group needs a lead singer, but they should gave some kind of tribute to Kenny first. Maybe if the done that first, than maybe I could listen to there new songs. But if they're going to do the old songs using Quinn, it's not going to sound or be right. People don't understand once you get used to a certain voice/sound, no one can replace it.

Well Intro fans, please continue find more information and share.

If anyone knows where I can get ahold of any of them let me know. I've seen the old BET performances already, I'd love to find some of their concerts.

I found the unreleased songs on Itunes. I also found another song I had never heard before that was not on their albums. Not sure if you have it or not. Its called Never Again - It was on an album put out by Eddie F and The Untouchables -Lets Get It On The Album

Hi, this is Sparkle.

Eventhough, Kenny was alittle thinner, he still was sexy and that voice. But with any illness depending on the situation, you do lose weight. I love when he's looking up in air [which to me is the sky]. He knew soon he would be with God and the Angels. All of us make choices that could be wrong, but once we do that's the price we pay. All Kenny wanted is to be loved whether it was a man/woman, he had to feel comfortable. And probably was scared once his secret got out, than everyone might wouldn't understand or just felt uncomfortable about the situation and just left him alone. Either way it's a sad decision, but if you were a true and loyal friend/individual it shouldn't matter.
The high and mighty God above is the only one to judge us. Everyone is not going to have a open mind, but just be kind and not hateful.
Also, where did you find the last 3 songs, anything about Kenny just cheers me up so much.

Well, thanks so much for the information and try not to be sad, just think of Kenny smiling down at us from the sky. I always look up and smile at the sky, because I have family, friends and celebrities that know we love them. Eventhough, they're not on earth, but in spirit. I rather remember my past, because the future right now is nothing more than a tragedy. [sad to say that, but it's true] So love everyone now, before it's no one to love. [But don't forget Kenny]

Well I'm signing off now, every just continue to write.

Peace and Love everyone and cherish your love for that special someone in your life. Work hard to keep the love line of romance going and never get tire of trying to make it work. Remember, the family you two made together, never let no sly male/female devil come in between your love for one another.

I missed that NY Undercover episode. It wasn't one of my favorite shows back in the day. I saw the clip on youtube though. It is painful to watch. Everytime I watch it I get emotional and wish I could go back in time to be there for him.

On a brighter note I bought the 3 unreleased songs today and felt like a kid in a candy store. So happy to be able add these to my playlist.

They sure don't make them like Kenny anymore. His voice is unforgettable.

Hi,this is Sparkle.

We all miss Kenny and as long as fans continue to write to make comments. I will always answer, because we all loved him so much...that voice and smile. I love to see his smile whenever he sang. He was really into his music.
Everyone that love Kenny no matter day or night, anytime you feel the spirit move you, just make a comment on line. I love to read anything about Kenny and if you have any photos or information just write.
Kenny spirit is with us and just look up at the clouds and for a moment, just imagine seeing his wonderful face.
As you can imagine I'm a true fan, I have a life but miss Kenny. But as long as I have his videos, photos and cd's I feel happy and no one can bring me down. The poems I write reflect a wonderful place in time and listening to Intro's music make me feel free and relax and I could write about love and relationships forever.
Thanks to Intro's music......

Well I have to sign off now, but please fans continue to write, even for a couple of minutes any thoughts you might have about Kenny G-Love Greene[our Sparkling Angel Man] in the sky.

Peace and Love to everyone and our troops in Iraq, a safe journey home.

I'm deeply moved by this outpouring for Kenny Greene. I have days when Kenny's music is all I listen to and just reflect upon his life. One of my favorite songs is " MY SONG" from the New Life CD. I'm so glad there are so many others that feel as I do in regards to Kenny. Keep the comments coming! Be Blessed

Hi, this is Sparkle. [My name is Theresa}

I'm so glad that people still feel that he is still a great factor of a human being in heaven and on earth now. My feelings are so sad at times and only Kenny's voice cheers me up every single day. I'm a true fan that wears picture earrings and necklace of Kenny and the group everyday. It's alot of music out here that has no meaning and purpose of love. Only the Intro group which Kenny was a part of makes you want to hold on to the one you love, no matter the race or sex of an individual. I'm so greatful for Tigger500 for starting this article and everyone just write down how you feel towards Kenny. I look at Intro's videos everyday and watch the transformation on Kenny. To me he looked good slightly heavy/thin, he's still fine to me...My Sparkling Angel Man. I pray to God everyday that Kenny is doing well and watching over all his fans. My special wish is to see him at the beach, sitting down relaxing and talking to me...even sing me a song.[my favorite is Don't Leave Me]
Kenny was to me a great success and loved to sing about relationships. Sometimes at night I think about Kenny and just cry, I understand he loved a guy, but that was his business. I'm a female that love men, Kenny could've still been mine friend. I wouldn't turn my back on him, just talk to listen.

Anyway I have to stop now, because once someone write about Kenny my feelings start to spoil over. I'm so happy that fans are still thinking and writing comments, he would appreciate it so much. I can't believe 2009 will be here soon and Kenny is still in my heart. It's like he never left, but is close to all of us in some kind of special way.

Let's continue to write..........................
Peace and Love Kenny's fans

Thank You So Much For Writing This!! (Reply to this comment)

I'm so happy to have found this site. I've been a Kenny Greene fan forever and I have been heartbroken that he has never gotten the recognition he truly deserves.
I bawled when I heard of Kenny's passing. There has never been another entertainer's passing that has affected me the way Kenny's passing did. I can't explain it but it was as if he was always a part of my family even though we never met.
It saddens me to think that he has not been recognized due to his sexuality. He had a golden voice and so much talent and contributed so much to R&B, is that not reason enough to celebrate him?
Sigh, I hope one day, we will truly be able to look at people for who they truly are. Who they choose to love should be the least of our concerns.

I could go on and on about my feelings about homophobia in the black community but I won't even bother. Just thinking about some of the absurdity I've heard over the years saddens and angers me too much. I'm just glad to be able to say that I love and miss Kenny. I've heard about the new member being added to Intro. I don't wish them any ill will. I always want to see people succeed. I'd be lying if I didn't say that it just feels so wrong for me. I'm sorry but Kenny was the soul of Intro. He can't be replaced. I do wish them luck on their endeavors though.

Peace to you all

New Intro Information (Reply to this comment)
by arttee
Hi, this is Sparkle and I typed in................Kenny G-Love Greene name and came across....
Blast From The Past:Intro/BallerStatus.com/FEATURES.
Todd Davis interview Buddy and Jeff the two remaining singers from Intro. I felt good about Buddy's comments, but Jeff Oh, My God was ridiculous with his opinion on our Kenny Greene. I had to stop reading for a second to stop crying once again. Please, please read this article...he mention something about a middle finger and he didn't go to see Kenny, because he didn't want to see him that way.[meaning to us as being very sick, weight lost etc] Buddy was always there and I really appreciate him still contacting his family. Buddy is married with three sons, and he is attending college. We as fans especially me, needed to know he wasn't alone and Buddy comments were sincere. But that Jeff, God give me strength, if I was in the studio hearing his comments...trust me the cops would've been around. I would've hit him so hard....oooh-stop me, Lord for that comment.[laugh]
Anyway, I was so happy finding more information, but I can honestly say, I will not buy or go to see any of the old and new Intro members. If Buddy is a true friend of Kenny and God, leave Jeff alone. Words can't describe how I feel right now, but to turn your back on your friend, trust it will happen to him, not now but God will deal with him in his own time. No way I would go to see them sing the old/new songs.
I can't believe there is a devil in the group that need to be brought out to the light and needs to disappear....
Sorry, Intro fans I'm just very upset, but once I think about Kenny [I'm focus now and calm].[smile] I have a humorous side, so just smile.

I will always seek out more information on Kenny, also Kenny was in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in the army. I don't know what year, but if anyone knew him or have any news about his army days, please share the information or photos. [I just miss him and need something special of Kenny to keep me cheered up at times]
Also, you can listen to and look at the video "Come Inside", one of my favorites while reading or post a comment, I tried but couldn't get pass a invalid problem.[Smile]

Well, Intro fans post some news soon and please comment on the article. Please try not to get too mad like I did just, calm down.

Peace and Love and Be Safe,
Sparkle

I'm glad there are others that feel the same way you & I do about Kenny Greene. I wish this outpouring could've happened when he was still alive. I wish he would've had a fansite, so that we could all express to him how much his music has meant to us. It would have been wonderful for Kenny to feel all the love and support demonstrated on this website. Kenny Greene was truly blessed talent who touched so many through his music. Please continue to update this site with any other websites that honor him or just any added information, pictures, etc.

Thanks so much for the praise. Hopefully there are more Intro/Kenny Greene fans that want to share information about our favorite and not forgotten singer. What I do if I have a depressing day or just feel down. I look up at the sky, imagine I'm on the beach and listen to Intro music and I'm relaxed. If Kenny was still here singer either R&B music or gospel it wouldn't matter to me. Kenny has a very unique voice that would lighten up your day and keep you motivated. If you would listen to the second CD and the song [7. There Is A Way] and the lyrics....hold on tight to your dream, it's not as bad as it seems, hold on to love, keep lookin' up to heaven above, hold on 'til tomorrow, there is a way.
Just listen to the whole song its very deep and if you do something wrong, just keep your head to the sky.[I Love It] And in reality it makes sense, just to keep a positive attitude right now and let no one stop your dream.[Just stay focus]

Well keep Kenny Greene in your memory, prayers and thoughts. I never in my life had ever had these positive thoughts towards any singer in my life, but the singers that are still living today only a few, I still listen to there songs. But the old music from what we call..[Back In The Day] will always keep a positive impact on the older generation of people and how we live our lives everyday. I miss that music and the singers......mmmmm

Well, I have to sign off now everyone keep Intro/Kenny Greene in mind and have a pleasant/blessed day.

Correction to the original post and 3 unreleased tracks by INTRO (Reply to this comment)
by estee2006
Actually the first single by Intro was released in 1990 on Classified Records, a small indie record label. Originally INTRO and Kenny Greene were discovered by producer Ed "The Red" Goltsman who ran a well known Brooklyn, NY based house music record label - Bottom Line Records. Ed immediately recognised Kenny's great talent and signed the group to an exclusive recording contract. Ed The Red produced 3 tracks with INTRO:
"Under Your Spell", "Love is here", and "Good Love" which was never released until now.
The voice of young Kenny "G-Love" Greene is unmistakable and shines like a diamond. These 3 uknown tracks by INTRO are now available on iTunes. You will find the new EP called "Good Love" by searching on iTunes using INTRO as a key word. Here is the link: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=279875144&s=143441

You're right!!!
Have you read my comments about Kenny Greene and said, his life style and personal business is his business. People should focus on the talent of an individual, and not there personal life. I love Kenny's music and still cry, because he was alone to suffer his ordeal with hardly no one to hug/hold his hand. Before he closed his eyes to the world.
Right now I have to stop, because I'm tearing up again. I hope when it's my time to go, my family and friends hopefully will be there for me.

I loved Kenny and would never put him down, that's why I'm writing and doing research on the website looking and searching for everything. And once I get more information, than I share it on this site.

I have Intro's music in my computer playing while I'm writing, time to sign off now!!!!!

REGARDLESS OF WHAT KENNY'S SEXUAL PREFERENCE MAY HAVE BEEN ONE THING FOR CERTAIN HE WAS CREATED AND LOVED BY OUR CREATOR JUST AS WE ALL ARE. PEOPLE ALWAYS PREACH AND SPEAK THE BIBLE BUT THEY DON'T LIVE WHAT THEY PREACH. Thanks,
I write poetry that I want to get publish one day, but I really enjoyed trying to put all of Kenny's songs together. What was funny I had to go back into the poem, because I left a few out. But it blended in well. My mind lately is on Kenny Greene it seems like he is here with us, but I know he forgave all those so-call people/family that wasn't there in his time of need. Eventhough, Kenny has lost weight, he still look good to me. What bothers me was his last video on NY undercover in 1995, he usually smile and not do half smiles. When he sang What's Going On? [it is too many people dying, war is not the answer, only love] WOW!!!!
If we only have Peace and Love in the world and communciate, just talk to resolve a problem to find a solution, the world would be great.
Here is some more information to find out about Kenny Greene....................................
*http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Does the lead singer from intro Kenny Greene have any u...
Someone answer the question no name but he must have some music of Kenny, song call Love on Me-came from Rain on me???
*Jeffsande01@yahoo.com
*Myspace.com-INTRO/Jeff
*Kenny G-Love Greene
The two remaining group members Jeff/Clinton and a lead singer K Quinn will have a new CD out in 2008. I don't understand how no one cared about Kenny and the group will not be the same. Especially, since Kenny wrote/produced/and sang lead. [ Not to put them down]

I'm still trying to find more information, but long as I have videos, photos and can look up at the sky and smile at Kenny while writing poetry I'm just fine. I had a feeling about Kenny which turned out to be true[sex wise]I can tell if a man is somewhat different. I get this knot in my stomach, which is a pain and I'm never wrong. I had several men friends in my past that didn't want to admit it, but they soon open up about there feelings and I appreciated that so much to be truthful deep within and I understood and will always be there friend. Never turn your back on a friend, because of how they feel about there sexuality, a good friend is hard to find these days.

Hi,
Thanks so much for responding, didn't this interview shock you. How could people be so uncaring, but there are people out there that have no feelings.
When I first got my computer and learn how to use it, the first thing I did was search for information on my favorite three groups.[Bernard Wright,Intro and 4Him]
But to read how Kenny was alone, hungry, bedridden, in the army for 3 years, using a wheelchair, Clinton brought food, Jeff/Kevin hardly came to see him and really didn't mention his family much. Also, he and his friend made the choice together and although it was wrong they both had to suffer the ordeal.[There choice]Love do make you do unusual things in life, and most of us can relate and been in certain situations that you can or can not get out of right away. [but you cope with it]Back to my comment..........
I cried so much that I had to stop reading for a few seconds, than I continue and couldn't stop. Now when I read anything about Kenny Greene, I don't cry anymore and I just smile now. Because our beloved Kenny Greene is with the angels and God. He's on every cloud singing and smiling with joy and that's why I don't cry now. I can look up at the sky watching all the clouds go by and feel that Kenny is pleased to be free and alive and close by me.

Anyone that reads this sister2sister article, just look up at the clouds and see Kenny smiling down at us. [he's o.k]

Peace and Love Kenny Greene Fans,
Theresa[Sparkle]

The reason why I write about Kenny is who doesn't have secrets/health problems that a person want to keep private.

Thank you for providing the search information for the S2S interview with Kenny Greene so that more fans can read how he was abandoned during the end of his life. When I read that interview, I was shocked and in disbelief that anyone would be left alone like that and when he was so instrumental in providing many with a means of living during the group INTRO's successful years. He really could've been a solo artist because he wrote all of the songs and sang lead on all of them as well. I don't want to be negative, but it just pains me that the people in his life didn't do more for Kenny. I feel that the message in most of his songs was a yearning for unconditional love and trying to find someone to love him

If you want to read more information about Kenny Greene, than type in Sister2Sister July 2001 Kenny Greene.
Some of the questions didn't make sense, but you will read and really start to get upset, maybe cry.
The reason why I said this is, because he was alone, couldn't walk, bedridden and had to use a wheel chair. If it wasn't for his social worker assisting, he probably would've died sooner.
Once you read the article just remember, God has him now and he's doing just fine.
My question to the music world, family, friends and Jeff/Clinton................................
Where were you knowing he just needed to know you were by his side. It doesn't matter about his personal life. Its about being a friend in his time of need.

Everyone now can read the article, and if you have more information just email me.

Thanks for looking at the video, he is so talented and his voice is God gifted. No one can ever take that away from him, not ever. I'm so glad more people is thinking about Kenny Greene as an artist/writer and producer, not his social life. If more people can focus on artist career and helping others, than the world could be just great. When people focus on singers, actors, and athlete's as role models and find out about personal life style or drug activities or anything. Than people start to dislike the person and focus on there personal status.
Your role model is your up bringing from the family example: mother, father or grandparents. I love these celebrities, but I don't worship them. I support there music, acting and athletic ability, but you worship God and your parents before anybody.
I love the trendy clothes, dance steps and how the celebrities carry themselves as an individual. And when tragedy strikes, than I remember how they impressed me with their talent.
Just like Kenny Greene I love his talent as a great successful artist, but didn't focus on his personal business.
Right now Kenny Greene is happy and that's how we as individuals should be, focus on doing good and stop worrying about other people.

Again,thanks for viewing the video.
Kenny Greene will be happy to know, that there are truly good fans out there in the world.

Peace and Love.................

I WATCHED THE EPISODE OF NY UNDERCOVER WHERE INTRO IS SINGING MARVIN GAYE'S (WHAT'S GOING ON) AND YES KENNY DID LOOK VERY THIN AND HE APPEARS TO BE DEEP IN THOUGHT BUT HIS VOICE WAS AS USUAL (MIND BLOWING). I CAN'T BEGIN TO EXPRESS HOW MUCH I LOVE KENNY GREENE'S VOICE. OUR CREATOR GIVES EACH AND EVERYONE OF US A SPECIAL GIFT AND KENNY'S GIFT IS HIS VOICE, I LOVE R&B MUSIC AND THE FIRST TIME I HEARD KENNY SING I CAME OUT OF MY SKIN AND IF YOU LOOK ON YOU TUBE INTRO IS ON THERE SINGING LIVE (RIBBON IN THE SKY) AND HIS VOICE IS THE TRUTH, I MEAN HE SOUNDS JUST AS GOOD AS HE DID ON THE CD, IF NOT BETTER. I UNDERSTAND HE WROTE A VARIETY OF SONGS FOR SEVERAL SINGERS SUCH AS MARY J BLIGE, WELL ALL I CAN SAY IS (THEY DON'T COME AS TALENTED AS KENNY ANYMMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks so much for you opinion and reading about Kenny Greene interview on sister2sister. Like I mention after reading the comments I just cried and was getting more and more upset. Eventhough, I never met the Intro group and missed the opportunity to see the group in Washington D.C., it was a shame how no one came to see him in either hospital.
If any of Kenny Greene's family members is out there or close friends, please respond to my email address and tell me more in detail, any information about him before he died. He has dedicated and true fans before and after his death that truly loved him as an artist and person. Even Kenny's friend can respond if he is still living, so we can know if he was truly loved by family or friends.[his friend or any girlfriends]Please respond we as fans loved him deeply. That voice and vision of writing how some of us feel in or out of a relationship. We need more love songs in the world and unity as a couple, could surely change our life.
Love and peace, no verbal abuse-beatings-killings etc.... If couple could focus on love and not how much money you're worth or what your job title consist of life could be good and as a couple work together. Instead of being jealous of one another all the time.
Kenny Greene just wanted to sing about love and happiness not hate.
I really appreciate the comment and if more people out there like you and myself that loved Kenny Greene, please comment to my email or epinions.com.

Thanks so ever much for your comment, if Kenny Greene was alive he would tell us thanks.
Also, one of Kenny's group member mention there CD will be coming out in 2008 and the lead singer will be K. Quinn. [Jeff Sanders from Intro on Myspace mention this information] It's going to be really hard to measure up to Kenny and another thing will they turn there back on him if he has a different life style. [I wonder]

My email is....theresa.pollard@yahoo.com

Peace and Love to everyone in the world who miss Kenny [G-Love] Greene.

Also, look at NY Undercover-Intro-What's Going On? Kenny was getting thinner, but in my opinion he was singing for us and God. He was looking alittle sad if you check out the video, but he cheered me up and I prayed he was in no pain once he taken his last look at the world.

Love you..................

I appreciate your comments about Mr. Kenny Greene. I was very disappointed when I finally read Kenny's interview with S2S magazine. I could not believe that he was in that hospital virtually alone. I have to say, I am also very disappointed in the remaining members of the group INTRO. It seems as though they really abandoned him at the worst possible time. Kenny needed them. He needed love and support during his difficult trial(sickness). Kenny was truly responsible for all of their success and I think that deserves some sort of kindness. It breaks my heart to know that someone who had done so much for so many people spent so much time alone towards the end of his life. I don't remember hearing about his family being there for him either. I suspect that when Kenny was at the top and money was rolling in; videos were being played in heavy rotation on BET; songs being played on every R&B/Hip Hop station, everyone wanted to be "down" with him. Noone deserves to die alone. If I am wrong, where is there any mention of any tributes or special events in memory of Mr. Kenny Greene or why was there no fanfare prior to his passing? He mentioned three people that had sporatically visited him while in the hospital. Did everyone just happen to visit after the interview was published? Like I said in an earlier post, I didn't even know Kenny Greene passed away until late in 2003 when I googled him to see what he was working on. Unfortunately, that was (2) years after the fact. The only person that I have since heard of being with Kenny and helping to care for him at the end of his life was Maria Davis, an AIDS activist. I applaud her for doing what appears noone else would do and that is care for him and be there for him. I also read where she did a tribute to him at one of her AIDS Awareness events along with Life Beat, but that's it. My heart aches for him, but I'm so glad that he is in a much better place now. Now he is surrounded by love!

My Sparkling Angel Man (Reply to this comment)
by arttee
My comment is why the death of Kenny Greene was so hush, hush. This man wrote/produced and was the lead singer in the group. Also, helped other singers in the music industry come to fame. I understood he had two separate life styles, but that was his personal business and not for us to judge only God. Where was his family and friends and especially his so-call group members. I didn't understand why no one was there, no one. How come it's no more videos, more photos and information where he was buried, who was there anything. I'm a true fan and just want to keep his memory alive and let people know he was and will always be a great man with more than enough talent, even to help others.
What hurt me the most was reading the sister2sister interview, some of the questions where inappropriate I continue to read on. I cried while reading certain lines.......he mention Clinton brought him food, because he was hungry and Jeff/his manager didn't hardly come to see him much at all. I was so upset,he had his personal business out in the open, where was everyone. He mention he was in the army and was bedridden. He couldn't walk once I read that, I just cried. Oh, my God where was the love, compassion and people. I couldn't believe what I was reading, how could people be so uncaring towards Kenny.
Family members and celebrities could have done something special for him in his time of need and the music industry should have done more. Once, they knew of his condition should have lifted his spirits by doing something nice for him while he was alive. And now after his death still nothing, it's like no one cares.
I care and I will continue to talk, write and make jewelry with his photo close to my heart and listen to his music everyday. Kenny music was about love, relationships and wanting to be loved. All of us can relate to one are more of his songs.
Remember, Kenny Greene as a talented artist/singer, not his life style, because that was his personal business.

Kenny is my Sparkling Angel Man, that had more talent than the average man.
The music he created was for us, to love one another and have enough trust.
So I say to you all who are true fans, Kenny is living, singing and doing a dance.
Thanks, Kenny for such beautiful songs, the music you made will never be lost.

Any fans that loved Kenny Greene, if you have more information about the group, please response to me.

Peace and Love,

I Miss Intro Deeply (Reply to this comment)
by arttee
My name is Theresa and I want the world to know Intro was a great group. Everyone have there own personal business they don't want anyone to know about because it could change everything in there life. Kenny Greene was a talent to the music world, singer, writer, and producer that earn him an award. I could care less about his life style, I only focus on his beautiful music. I was so upset about sister2sister interview and those inappropriate questions. I cried when I read the comments and could not believe how he was bedridden and hardly no one came to see him and give moral support. He mention Clinton came and Jeff came to see him a few times. How could celebrities and friends of Kenny Greene didn't go to see him while he was sick. When I think how he was hungry and Clinton brought him food. I just cried and ask God how could they treat him so bad. Who doesn't have health problems, but to turn your back on a friend is wrong. How would you feel if someone was always there to help you, and when they need you the most seriously, you turn your back. Kenny Greene is in my dreams all the time and I wish I met him on one of his tours. I pay tribute to him by listening to his music and creating picture earrings so the whole world can see. I write about my personal life in my poems and imagine Kenny still here in the world today. Its only a dream, but good music is hard to come by these days. Kenny contribute helping so many singers and no one did a tribute in his honor. Its like he was here, but now he's gone, he left his music to carry on. If it wasn't for Intro music to cheer me up all the time, I would feel so very alone. I noticed he was getting thinner I knew it was something wrong. There music is so sexual, and erotic how can you not love it. And if you think about your experience with someone you can truly relate.
Hopefully, someone out there can understand why I written this message about Kenny Greene. He was the best and I will cherish and pray to God to watch over him and let him sing beautiful love songs, that had a true meaning in life.
The music industry should done something to honor such a great man. Without his talent to help support other singers, they wouldn't be here today making songs. Also, if anyone have more information or photos of the group. Please respond to my comment page.
"I Just Love"
I just love listening to Kenny Greene a man with many talent that was filled with love, hope and dreams.
When he sang it came from his heart those sexy and words that made up each song.
Without you Kenny love is not gone, because right now you're with God.
So while you're singing on every cloud, never forget that your true friends and fans are still around.
I pray to God everyday for sending you to us, for filling our hearts and mind with such delight.

Peace and Love Kenny Greene,
Your love songs will always be with me.
You are my Sparkling Angel Man in the sky
Thank you God for Kenny[G-Love] Greene

It seems like forever and a day since my last conversation with Kenny. The world knew him as "Kenny Greene" of INTRO and the famous songwriter but you mean so much more to those who truly knew and love you. A day does not pass that you are not in my thoughts. I am so thankful for the words of this author. Most people have forgotten who he was and how talented he was. He was a true gift to the music world and to all those who had the priviledge of knowing him. He is and will forever be truly missed.

Well done my brother well done. He was an accomplished Writer, Producer,Singer and Artist that influence a generation and generations to come.

The many contributions that he made to the Music Industry has not gone un-noticed. I love the last Cd that INTRO released. The Music just flows, the lead and background vocals are perfect and melodic. His style is evident on Mary J.Blige's recordings that Kenny produced for her and as I listened I heard that 'Kenny-sound' that helped define her style. That same groove, that same inspirational feeling is there. He's gone but definately not forgotten.

Kenny Greene Tribute Show (Reply to this comment)
by jodecidal
What an insightful and well written piece on the man, the legend and his works. Well done to the writer. He has done so much for music that it pains me that he is not remembered. We at NJS4E.com/NJS4Ever.com are going to be doing a tribute concert for him in New York later in 2008. It is time people woke up and really remember him. If anybody is interested in helping or can help with this, then e-mail me at vijay@njs4ever.net.

His work with INTRO, Jeff Redd, Father MC, Mary J Blige, Carol Riddick, Will Smith, Soul For Real, The Winans, Jason Weaver, The Truth, Christopher Williams, Shinehead etc has really stood the test of time. I think you can quantify 'good' music as something you can realistically listen to in 20, 30 or 40 years time. Everything he ever touched is listenable and will be listened to in years to come.

Thank you Mr.Greene, you are not forgotten.

REMEMBRANCE ON WORLD AIDS DAY! (Reply to this comment)
by vchild
I just want to take a moment and truly remember Kenny Greene today, World AIDS DAY. I have such a fondness and appreciation for him and his contributions to the music world. I am still listening to INTRO'S debut CD as well as their followup CD, NEW LIFE. Both CD's bring me such enjoyment that I listen to them though they were current. As I have stated before, I can only imagine the wonderful songs he would be writing and singing if he were still here with us. I'm sure he is singing now, but we are just unable to hear him. I sit here and wish he were still here, but at the same time feel truly thankful that he is not here to witness the unchanged bigotry and hatred that still surrounds homosexuality and stigma of having AIDS. I also choose to believe that if he were still alive, he would take his testimony and use it to help counsel the many who are confused about their sexual orientation and educate those who are participating in risky unsafe behavior. I feel that he would now see that the best love is Self Love. When you truly love and respect yourself, you make smarter and healthier decisions. The truth of the matter is whether you are engaging in sexual activity with the same sex or opposite, you need to protect yourself! Trust noone but yourself! Love yourself enough to take care of ' You ' !! Even if you are in what you think is a monogamous relationship, take the necessary precautions to be safe! I Love Kenny Greene and whether he was Gay, Bisexual, or on the DL, he was a person with a soul. He had a spirit that should be celebrated and remembered on this day as well as everyday! So today I say Thank You to Kenny Greene for his time here on earth and his willingness to share his talent. I am thankful for all the many songs that I am able to sing along to and feel the message with his lyrics. I am grateful to him for revealing his true self before departing this life.

It is true that we all fall short of the all mighty's glory and with that said, no judgements shall be made until YOU are standing there awaiting his mercy! WE ALL SIN and Mr. Greene's lifestyle does not make him less worthy of love and respect. You need to ask yourself when you are all alone, " What if my secrets or short comings were revealed for all to see and criticise?" I'm sure that Kenny Greene fought those demons for many years and experienced a lot of unfortunate torment. Who are you to judge? I believe the basis for the review started by tigger500 (in my opinion) was to discuss how attitudes/opinions such as yours may have led to his self destructive lifestyle.

Even though it's been over 2 years since my last comment. I'm still finding new things out about my favorite group of the 90's. Thanks to the magic of the internet, I finally seen previously unseen videos from INTRO.

I never even thought that they put out videos for "Ribbons in the sky", "Funny how time flies", "Feels like the first time".

Thanks to youtube users, I came across them. Now, I have even more archives of INTRO's work, to remember Kenny's tremendous talent.

Still thinking of our loss... RIP G-Love

Actually, the towns were destroyed for other sins not the homosexuality. But that's beside the point. My essay was about how hatred and unneccessary judgment from fellow man led Kenny Greene to live an unhealthy life, which may have led to his untimely death AND how his talent was basically nascent talent that had not even matured or peaked. Rather than judge any person for what they do, a little understanding that we are all sinners would go a long way toward making all humankind healthier and happier.

Truth is Mr. Greene was very talented but I find it hard to ignore the facts about this situation. Not to get religious because we all fall short of his glory but sexual contact with the same sex is not pleasing in God's eye sight. He destroyed a whole city for that in the bible.Sometimes the good has to suffer with the bad and after all is said and done that's what happened here. In this life you have to choose the road you're gone take and when you make that decision you accept the consequences that comes with that road.

Just wanted to inform all the INTRO fans that while Kenny Greene is no longer with us, the group is now diligently working on releasing a new album in 2008 with new lead vocals. Other 90's favorites like Jodeci, H-Town, Silk, Dru Hill to name a few also working on a come back for next year. Look for it in 2008.

I was looking for info on Kenny Greene's life and songwriting career (which is scant, unfortunately) and this review is one of the first few hits Google produced. I am not an epinions.com reader or reviewer but I had to register to thank you for your contribution. It is very necessary.

A few months after Kenny died, I remember reading a couple lines in some magazine attributing his death to AIDS complications and that was it. I heard nothing more (at least not in Black, mainstream, heterosexual media and communities) and that was such a pity. You've reminded us that Kenny's life and death were quite relevant. Again, thank you.

Kenny Greene - A Life Worth Celebrating (Reply to this comment)
by nightowl2700
Well,

I just read the article about him and I'm feeling very sad and hurt by the fact that he had to hide who he was in order to be accepted in this day and time. I'm listening to his music now and can't understand how who he chose to sleep with would take away from the awesome talent he possessed. There are a lot of "DL" people in the music industry that we will probably not know about until they are dead and gone. People express their blatant dislike of the lifestyle, without ANY tolerance, I might add and then wonder why people find it so hard to be honest about it. Maybe, if we were more accepting of others differences, we wouldn't have to deal with the initials "DL". RIP Mr. Greene, I wasn't a fan in the pass, however, I may be one of your biggest fans now.

DEEPLY SADDENED AND DISAPPOINTED (Reply to this comment)
by vchild
I was blown away when I googled Kenny Greene. I was thinking about my college days and how much I loved Kenny Greene and my INTRO CD. I was completely infactuated with Kenny Greene! During that time, all I played was INTRO and Mary J Blige. I was not surprised when I found out that he was the writing talent behind Love No Limit and Reminisce, two of my favorite MJB songs. I never got the opportunity to see INTRO perform live and I always hoped one day that would change. I decided to google him to find out if there was any recent or upcoming music from him. I thought that since I hadn't heard any new songs released by him, there would definitely be some information about him working with some of the up and coming R & B artists or maybe even some of the older ones. My heart sank when I saw this search result. I couldn't believe Kenny Greene passed away and I knew nothing about it. I am so disappointed with the lack of attention his death has received. Kenny Greene was a gifted songwriter and possessed one of the most amazing voices that I have ever heard. I know there are numerous fans that would love to see some sort of tribute about him. He never received the respect that he deserved. I would stack his talent and vocal range against anyone in the music industry right now. I cannot believe more of the artists with whom he worked with and wrote hits for are not coming forward to do something for Kenny. I remember when INTRO'S first CD came out in 93'. I wore it out. I played it everyday and night. I thought Kenny was amazing. I would turn my cd player on as soon as I would get to my dorm room from class and listen to INTRO! I love Stevie Wonder, but the remake of Ribbon In The Sky was incredible!!! I loved it. I loved Kenny's voice! I couldn't hear enough of him. His writing was so soulful and full of love. His music made you feel good and hopeful about love. Since hearing of his death, I have purchased INTRO's self titled CD again on Amazon.com. I didn't know him personally, but I feel such a tremendous loss. I have been playing that CD everyday since it arrived last week and feel the songs on this cd would still out shine some of the R & B music that is out right now. I can only imagine what Kenny would have been able to accomplish had he lived. I feel like I cannot learn enough about him. I have been searching for more information, pictures, anything on Kenny Greene, but the results have been minimal. I am regretful that Kenny felt he needed to live his life in such turmoil. I wish that he could have been open and not pressured into hiding his true self. Kenny's lifestyle has no reflection of how much I enjoyed his music. I still consider myself one of his biggest fans and I am so disappointed that there have been no tributes or celebrations of the life of this precious, gifted soul. Whatever your belief system or moral values, Kenny Greene was human just as we all are and his contributions to society should not be overlooked because of his lifestyle choice. I'm glad to know that he found peace before the end. I'm still so astonished that it is 6 years after his death and I am just finding out. I would love to know of any information that is still out there regarding this beautiful soul. Kenny, I know you're no longer suffering and that brings some comfort.

I was reading an article in today's New York Time's about Eddie F. I instinctively thought about INTRO. I rummaged through all of my old cds and came across, arguably, one of the best cds of the 90's. I was a Sophomore in college when it dropped and I was pulled into a vortex every time I listened to that voice,THE voice. I immediately googled the group to inquire about the whereabouts of the phenoms. Much to my chagrin, I read about the death of Kenney Greene. I was devastated! I popped in my cd for the first time in 13 years. I was transported to a perfect time and place. As I listened to Ecstasy of Love, Tears came to my eyes. Not for any reason in particular...just because. That song has always been so sweet, pure and pristine. I thank tigger500 for writing such a cogent piece.

I graduated high school in 1993 and I remember when this was first released. I actually played the tape so much, I busted it and had to buy a new one. As big of a fan as I was of Kenny and INTRO, I never knew they had a 2nd CD, which I have just purchased online....

I miss them. I was so saddened to hear when Kenny died...it still hurts me deep to my core. I also didn't realize until reading this article that he wrote two of MJB's first songs - she is another favorite of mine and I totally understand why those two songs have always been two of my favorites from Mary.

RIP Kenny

Supressed Bisexuality in the Black community (Reply to this comment)
by kuriouskandie
I was just listening to the Masterpiece "Come Inside" while online..I remembered how that album made me feel deep inside..then I remembered Mary J. Blige paying her respects on a radio show. I knew he passed but I never knew how or much about his personal life...Then I googled Kenny Greene and came across this webpage. Wow! I have learned so much tonight and am blown away. Either I was sleeping in 2001 or this information was not exposed or communicated enough. I have never heard of anything like this. I never heard of K. Greene being a bi-sexual either. (I may have heard something about him passing but not the cause of death). You know, at the age of 35, I am finally acknowledging my feelings about women. (I'm not exactly acting on it yet) I am a straight woman who has never been with a woman before I have been feeling this way for a long time but I learned how to supress my emotions over the years. I grew up with traditional black family values that forbid this kind of behavior. In the black community, we have so much to overcome as it is so to be labled as a "bi-sexual" imposes more stigmas. We may be subject to being outcasted and segregated. Since Christianity is the predominantly religious faith in our community- we are forbidden to even indulge in homesexuality. Black men will not be respected as "real men" they will be called "fa%#!ts" with ignorant misconceptions and generalizations. Black lesbian or bisexual black women will be labeled as "dikes" or feminists who hate men-or women who can't get men. These are the reasons why men and women often suppress their emotions. Those of us who pursue it do so in secret known as being "On the down Low". It is a shame that I even struggle and could never tell anyone about how I have these feelings. I think as a community we need to deal with this more openly and freely. More general support needs to be given.

I must say that Kenny Greene was a truly talented musician who influenced musical sensationalists today. I will learn from his life because there is so much to be learned. Kenny Greene struggled with others accepting him for his sexual preferences as an entertainer and had to succumb to the pressures of the industry. This should have never been acceptable this was in the 90's not the 60's. I believe God allows us to be an example for each other before he calls to our resting place. Perhaps we will learn from this. We must do our best in acting responsibly gay or straight!

I believe Kenny's influence in the industry challenged the soulful artists in the late 90's. He contributed to MJB's career and others and she will never let us forget it. His life and his music will not be in vain as long as we celebrate his life by supporting the good R&B musical ballads. Intro's 1st album was comparable and competitive with R.Kelly's 12 Play. Steamy sexy ballads, and mindblowing midtempos were timeless. I am also a musician and I am slowly beginning to introduce the true me in my music..One love to Kenny Greene for his musical contributions to the R&B and HipHop industry!!!! and One love to black men and women who have established their true sexual lifestyles and have refused to allow society to dictate how they will live their life!

I have been a fan of INTRO since the introduction of the famous R&B Group in the early 90's. I just so happened to be in an airport in Indianapolis IN when I read the Sister 2 Sister article. As a brother it hurt my heart to know that he was suffering from such an illness that carries such a hateful stigma.

I mourn his loss and it angers me that the black R&B community didn't even take a stand to recognize Kenny, or even issue statments about his influence on thier careers, how Kenny's life much more than his music touched those that were closest to him. Where are these people, where were they at the time of his suffering.

It must have been very hard on the man to have to live a double life.

He is very missed.

I had no idea Kenny had died...

I found out about his condition from a friend back in 2000-2001. She informed me of an article in sister 2 sister. I couldn't believe it then, so I researched the internet only to discover that the info was a fact.

I was haunted then and find myself haunted now. I just found out he died 2 days ago and I've been playing the CD "New Life" ever since. "Love Me Better" is my favorite track and I find myself welling up inside each time that song plays. I am grateful that I purchased the CD when it came out and still in possession of it today.

I lost my mother 2 years before Kenny's death from the same illness. I hope his family and friends alike came to terms with his illness and appreciated him for the man he was to come forth and open himself up. Nobody's perfect and everyone makes decisions in life that only they will have to answer for.

He had a beautiful voice and the trio combined produced a melody that will always send chills through me. As I now look at the CD jacket it is haunting knowing that the man has passed on but his voice echoes in my mind when I think of my favorite song.

(I couldn't find it on itunes the other day.) Then I saw about the death and in this post, also a singer from H-Town, too. I am so sad and shocked, I never even heard of these. And it is already August 2005. How sad! God bless those and their families and their fans...

Right on point about Kenny Greene (Reply to this comment)
by lonelygurl8305
I have to say that your right on point about you comments about Kenny Greene. Its a shame that entertainers private life always seems to be the public's business. Thats a shame! I really think that his and any person sexual orientation is their business. But sadly, many entertainers have to keep their image up, and thats probably what Kenny was doing, just playing the game that he had to play. I really liked their remake of Ribbon in the sky, I thought it was theirs orginally, but I actually liked their version better than Stevie Wonder's. I was only like 10 when I heard it on the radio.(those two songs he wrote for Mary was the bomb!!) I was looking @ some of their old video's on launch.com the other day, and he kind of favored Johnny Gill in a way, but I never would have guessed he was a bisexual, guess you cant tell a book by its cover. I read the article in Sister2Sister right before he died, and once again, it was really sad article, cause you could tell that it was "the end". I guess a person can die, but their memory will never die.I never listened to their CD's but I do plan on it in the future. Its sad that his family and even own group members shunned him away, because of who he was, and who he loved.

I know, too, that there is a lot more pressure on men to have a certain image, the perfect image, a "straight" image, especially African-American entertainers, sport figures, political figures. Theres not nearly as much pressure on women entertainers, etc. There is a double standard, especially in the AA community! If a woman is a entertainer and bisexual for the most part, people, for the most part, dont look at her as any different, or comes out as a lesbian, or stays unmarried, many people dont look "down" on them. Ex: Janet Jackson, Pink, Madonna, even Josephine Baker, singer Nona Hendryx, and Billie Holliday. Even the lead singer the group GREEN DAY(Billie Joe Armstrong) is a bisexual, married, and their current album is doing GREAT!!! For some reason, it isnt as much as a backlash for white artist when they reveal the same thing. But for some reason, with a man, especially a black man, its a difference, I guess its seemed as being a weakness, and I think thats forced most men, even entertainers, to go on the DL, and not risk their money, image, or careers, but many of them, are risking their lives, and that should mean more than any of the three things that I just mentioned.Even women lives are being put at risk because of men who won't or can't be who they really are, because these men are trying to put up a front, trying to protect their manhood and image, and having unprotected sex. People should be more open-minded, and except people for who they are, and people need to real about what they are!

After Luther Vandross died, many rumors about him went around, the same when he was alive, because he, unlike Kenny, never confirmed that he was in fact, gay, even though people kinda already knew that he was.Even Freedie Mercury of the band "Queen" kept his sexuality a secret until he died. They dont want to risk their careers, or being ashamed.I dont understand why this was ever a factor, because both Freddie Mercury/Queen and Luther put out some good music, but once again, people feel a need to get in other people business. The same thing about Tevin Campbell, and other male entertainers that I wont mention. I just feel that a person should be able to who they really are, no matter what, and still be able to sell records, act in movies, theaters, etc.

In closing, I just want to say that I hope Kenny found peace when he died, and hopefully, more people will have the courage to be who they really are and not what somebody wants them to be!!!

Regarding Kenny Greene's Passing: (Reply to this comment)
by snipersoundz
I am sad to "finally" know what happened to one of my favorite groups. So please allow me to get this off my chest. I was a true fan of Kenny's writing style and tremendous vocal ability. In the past, I was an aspiring vocalist myself. I quickly heard "Intro's" first album, from the street buzz that it created. I must say that it became one of my practice cd's. My favorite song's being "Don't Leave Me", "Ecstacy Of Love", and "Ribbon In The Sky". I truly love the whole CD, but those songs really did it for me. My then fiance loved me singing this whole cd to her.

At this point I wanted to work with very few writers. Prince, Al B. Sure, and Kenny Greene. Kenny because he was little known at the time. He wrote like a seasoned veteran though. So I had a better chance of actually meeting him.

Myself, having lived with family in Mt. Vernon, NY. I knew Hev-D, and Eddie F., who I thought put them out. A short time later, I had the pleasure to meet a new artist, Toni Braxton. This was at an autograph session for her first album. Peeps were in line with their demo tapes. I got up to her and sung a song that perfectly displayed vocal ranges "Ecstacy Of Love". She had an A&R with her at the time. I sung the first line and chorus to them. They loved it. Toni then signed my poster "Keep on Singing...See You At The Grammy's". She gave me a hug and kiss. Her A&R gave me her business card for LaFace Records. She instructed me to call her later in the week.

I never pursued music seriously any further after calling them. They wanted a 12 song demo. I didn't write songs at all. So, as it stands... Kenny's words provided me with one of the greatest moments musically in my life.

To the Greene family,

I hope that you find comfort in knowing that Kenny is working on his best album yet. He will be performing for all of heaven to hear now. Kenny's spirit is still on earth as well. It lives on through his music, and in the memory of those who have been blessed to hear his voice. I too was at that show at constitution hall in 95. Although they didn't get enough time onstage. They were able to perform most of their popular songs, and gave a great performance. On a sidenote, I married the woman. Our first dance was "Intro's - Ribbon In The Sky".

One Love...

Regarding singer Kenny Greene of the R&B group "Intro" (Reply to this comment)
by bhutch71
Im in the music and film industry and just found out from a simple conversation about the group "Intro" that a third album was not released because of his death due to AIDS. Being that I've done film projects about AIDS, it deeply saddens me to just now hear about it. I think this should be a big lesson learned to music companies and or Media types that Singers and groups of their magnitudes who are obviously talented, creates a following because of their music and personality and it is their responsiblity to at least inform the fans of the passing of any artist from a disease such as AIDS..and also, too, if shines a bigger light one life that is becoming even more popular and needs to talked about... Further more, just through a simple search, I found this article that justify this horrible news and trust me, I will go out and grab their CD's because I did love their sound, even from just two albums... May God Give Kenny Greene Peace!

I didn't know Kenny had passed when I read this article. I feel duped by the media; that almost three years later, I'm just now finding out about his passing. I knew of his battle with AIDS but didn't really take time to search the media for information on Kenny until now. I've heard about the "controversy" on the revelation of his sexuality, but frankly, I overlooked that issue. For me, I've respected the cat since day one for his published contribution to Mary's "411" album. He has musically influenced me in an unpronounced, but deeply profound way. Working in the industry as a musician/writer/producer, I still catch myself from time to time mentally saying "...now how would have Kenny done that".

In light of the intriguing article I’ve just read, I must admit, I am faced with my own demons of phobia towards homosexuality and bisexuality. Back in 1992, as a 14 year old studying out Greene's vocal and song arrangements, I can't help but to ask myself, "If he had 'come out' with his proclamation of bisexuality back in 1993, would my view of Kenny (or his talent/music) be skewed if I had known?" At 14, probably. But I think probably due to ignorance. Just as every American, either black or white, Asian or Latin, or any ________-American, or simply, as any human being, I too can subconsciously become a product of my surroundings.

10 years later, I've come to learn that in the American society, there are so many individuals, including myself, who have allowed the media (television, radio, or print) to, if you will, "brainwash" our minds with tisk and taboo as so much to the point of placing unfair value or prejudgment on another human being merely based on appearance, wealth, fame, and, especially in this case, sexual preference. Are these things REALLY necessary? I believe that this "way of thinking" is a byproduct of ignorance in a shallow society. "If there's no $$$ in it, forget about it." We see it in everything from MTV's Real World to American Idol to Queer Eye. "It's all about appeal" and we fall for it. We must remember that Kenny played the game as well. Possibly out of ignorance; possibly out of fear.

We all want to be embraced and accepted by our peers. However, when will we, as individuals famous or infamous, wake up to realize that our own destiny really lies in the decisions we choose for the well being of ourselves and, in turn, ultimately affect the ones we love for good or for worse regardless of public disgrace or opposition by the masses?

I don't wish tragedy or devastation on anyone no matter who they are or what they believe or even what bad they have done to me, because someday, I may possibly be in the very same shoes they tread in. I didn't know Kenny on a personal level. I don't know, nor do I care what he did in his sexual life. But I do know that the R&B community has lost a wonder of a talent that could have been. Kenny, you are missed. Rest in peace. I hope to meet you someday.

Kenny Greene (Reply to this comment)
by tanee78
I know that I am mad late on replying, but I just thought about searching for some info on him. It's nice to read the comments of people who knew Kenny and how he knew the Lord and how he was a giving person! It warms my heart to know that one day I will see him again and tell him how his music effected me.

It was a shock to me to read that he was struggling with AIDS and led a life that was a total surprise to me, because of the lyrics he wrote.

But, I wish I had a chance to meet him. I'd still buy his music if he was still alive and making music.

I would like to hear some of his unreleased stuff. I like INTRO's first CD because of the songs "Love Thang" and "Let Me Be". After I heard those two songs on the radio, I had to get it. I think I know every "riff and run" that he did on that CD and can kinda imitate it too...LOL

Kenny always sounded to me like he grew up in church sangin'! He has that strong gospel sounding voice. It was no shock to me that he said he wanted to do a gospel album before he died. I would've ran to the store to get it!

I also have "New Life" and I didn't even know it was out...I think I got it a year or so later because It wasn't promoted very well.

I was also surprised to know that he and (Dave "Jam" Hall, Where's he at?) wrote and produced songs for others. Mary J and even Soul For Real's hit "Candy Rain!" (which is my jam!)If I was an artist, they'd be on my list to record with!

I wish Kenny was able to reach his potential and I agree, he probably could've been bigger than R. Kelly!

It's sad that he didn't get recognized like he should've...but that's how the crappy music business is!

Kenny definitely will be missed!!!!He sangin' up there in heaven!!!

Kenny Grrene--Thanks for sharing the truth (Reply to this comment)
by maest35
I just want to thank you for enlightening us on the truth behind Kenny Greene's death. I think that it is sad that black men feel bound by this Tarzan-Jane complex of heterosexuality. We as individuals owe it to ourselves and our community to truly learn to accept people for who they are.

Kenny Greene was an amazingly talented musician and producer that I adored in my teens. Although I was a bit young to truly understand the depth behind the lyrics, I am proud to know this beautiful and talented black man has gone on to rest his soul with the ancestors.

This article shook me to the core and has showed me how devasting HIV/AIDS has been and continues to be to the African-American community. We all--straight, gay, or bisexual--should go out and get tested in memory of Kenny Greene and our ancestors and for the future of ourselves and our children. We must stop the senseless deaths of millions of talented black Americans. And we should all light a candle in memory of that soulful black man trapped between the will of American society and his own bisexuality.

Ashe, brother!

Still thinking about the relevance of KennyGreene's Life and death (Reply to this comment)

I loved Intro. Kenny was my favorite! His voice was so strong and powerful and could be soft and and warm at the same time he was a real artist and one that I miss a great deal. I know that Kenny and Intro had a lot fans who miss them too he was not giving his props by BET or urban radio for that matter and that is a down right shame we all should call our local radio stations and request Intro's songs and let them know we miss him!

My brother called me today and told me about Kenny Greene's death. I hadn't heard or seen anything about him dying. He was a great artist and I loved Intro's music. It might be a good thing that his death was not really publicized because the focus would have been on his lifestyle rather than his music.

I will always remember (Reply to this comment)
by veebaby
When I read the S2S interview, and discovered Kenny's death, I was shocked. The industry really let me down for not recognizing him as the phenomenal artist that he was. I always remember the essence snippet he had where he described his type of woman. His voice always plays in my mind, I thought he was beautiful, his voice so rich, when I saw Intro @ constitution hall in 95, they blew me away. I always play that version of ribbon in the sky. My uncle used to tell me that he knew "those cats" before they started, when they were at Ft.Bragg. It is disheartening how shady the industry is. In my opinion, what one does sexually, as long as it does not harm others, or whom they love, is between them and God. Society has become too nosey and judgemental. We all live in some sort of glass house and should stop throwing stones. Because when we do, we we don't get to realize the inner beauty that most people possess. To the family of Kenny Greene, many blessings, be comforted in the fact that your loved one is in a better place where he can receive love abundantly no matter what. His spirit lives on to those of us who were blessed to have ever been in the presence of such a beautiful spirit.

by njackson30
I am devastated that I am just learning of Kenny's death almost 2 years later. Since hearing about this I guess that I can say that I am still grieving. Although I did not know Kenny personally, his music still lives on everytime I play songs like "Let Me Be The One" and "Ribbon In The Sky". I must say that I am very disappointed in BET and some of the other networks for not informing the fans of Kenny's death unlike Aaliyah and Lisa Lopez and recently the late singer of the group H-town. But I can say that Kenny Greene will be missed and I am glad to know that he knew the Lord. Therefore, one day, we will sing with Kenny again.

Kenny Greene: My Brother, not Forgotten (Reply to this comment)
by amgriffith
I think your article was great. You are right. Kenny was a talented force to be reckoned with. The artistic music community has lost a great man of vision and heart.

Kenny was my brother. He called me his 'little sister' as we sung in and around North Carolina for years, before Intro was formed. When Kenny, Buddy and Jeff toured as INTRO, I was always introduced as "G's lil sister!". I miss the guys, and I really miss my lil brother.
My children still miss their 'uncle Kenny' as we celebrate his life, and death, as a family.

His works will never be forgotten or 'put away on a shelf'. I still have some original stuff Kenny wrote while at Fort Bragg North Carolina. It's my private stash of music that I can enjoy and listen to whenever I feel his spirit around me.

The music industry has not scratched the surface of the contributions Kenny's words and music has contributed to the industry. But for the fans of INTRO, and the family of Kenny, we know that his life and legacy will live on forever and forever.

INTRO means Innovative New Talent Reaching Others... Because of articles like this one, his Talented reach will go on and on and on..

Thank you for your kind words and spotlight on a very much relevant subject.

Still thinking about the revelance of Kenny Greene's life and death (Reply to this comment)
by amlikehim
I met Kenny in 1997 in Church in Mobile Alabama at Living Word Christian Center. Kenny was also a giver and he had a relationship with God. Kenny helped and became a key part of our group called "CONSUMED" who went to a Youth Bootcamp program every Friday to minister in song and Word to troubled teens to keep them from going to prison. We co-wrote many songs with Kenny and spent many hours and days creating music, and was the feature group during a Nicki Cruise Crusade in Alabama. In November of 2001 while in the hospital, I visited Kenny and he told me what the doctors diagnosed. During this time he told me to take what we've done and to go forward and then he prayed for me. These songs I can tell you are of the best work done by Kenny, and reveals the real Kenny Greene that many didn't know. Kenny Greene had a spirit of excellence and he kept the faith that he would recover. Before he became unresponsive in a Nursing Home in NY, he would always tell me tell everyone that he loved them before hanging up. The only thing I can't understand is why the industry whom he contributed so much stood far from him during this time. Days ahead, the works of Kenny Greene shall come to life again and have an impact on those who will come to know The real Kenny Greene. Listen to what he's created and it will speak volumes about his talent, but to have known Kenny as a real brother is the greates gift. Live on my Brother,

Peace....,

QUAKE

I know that this is an extremely late posting concerning the death of this brilliant individual. I was recently reminiscing some of the songs from back in the day. And I just decided to look for INTRO's song "Let Me Be The One". That is how I found out. I am incredibly saddened and although its been almost 2 years I guess that I can grieve myself. I loved the first album by INTRO. Kenny had an incredible voice. I just pray that he found his home with God. I am also very hurt that BET did not acknowledge his passing, nor did they give tribute. In my opinion, this guy was just as talented as Aaliyah and Lisa "Lefteye" Lopez. I do hope that one day the other members..Jeff and Buddy will release a album #3. INTRO FOR LIFE!!!!!!

I can't believe more people haven't heard of this man!!!!!!!I love Intro!!!!!!!I just wish they had time to complete the third album before his death.I have their first two cd's.I love them both.I didn't know exactly when he died. Now that I do, I can give him a musical tribute on that day.I can't believe BET did nothing to acknowledge his death. They played the group's videos when they were on top, but when Kenny passed, they didn't even present a special. No archives, news segments, nothing.I didn't appreciate it at all."Ribbon In The Sky", "We've Got A Love Thang" are just a few of their big hits. When we lost Kenny, we lost a very talented man.We still mourn for him.
