OK, I'll concede the placement issue, but not the copyright issue yet. If you
(1) put a reference list, even if only [Fields] in the review;
(2) separate your words from quotes and paraphrases from [Fields] (or other sources); and
(3) have written at least 100 of your own words, (not including the reference list),
I'll give the review a VH. Epinions may still need to deal with the copyright issue, but I'll let Fields make the complaint. (Although, to be fair, you should contact him.)

Fields, Charles B. "Controversial Issues in Corrections." Allyn and Bacon: Boston, 1999.

How about that re-rate now?

Well -- to begin with, A bibliography should be sufficient -- you certainly need some notes to make (Fields 20) etc. valuable. Parenthetical references might be necessary to show that you're not just paraphrasing a single source.

And, just because your professor doesn't have copyright concerns, doesn't mean that we shouldn't. When you submit a paper to your professor, that's not publication (although it could still be a copyright violation without being plagiarism). This is publication, and might be seen by the original author.

I know, an act being more likely to be punished doesn't make it more wrong.

I'll concede the the point on Social Studies -- it's not defined, and your review is not entirely off-topic. It still seems to me that this fits better in Politics.

I won't rerate until you clarify who wrote what, though.

Arthur...

I get the feeling you are a crank. Would you like the source I quoted from parenthetically?

Funny, the professor for whom I wrote the paper for had no concerns of copywright infringements or validity.
