PC2 W/O -A Tale of Murder and Revenge , Epilogue and moral
Oct 17 '02
The Bottom Line Murder and revenge-a cautionary tale. Caution-extreme violence!
A gun was pointed at his head
As he lie snoring in his bed
Wake up Now! my angry cry
Theres no more outs! This time you die!
Ive waited nearly forty years
For vengeance to be met
While you went on , without the fears
That you would pay this lawful debt.
I found her there that morning, warm,
blond hair fanned a halo for her head
Laying separate from that perfect form
which rested still, quiet, on my bed.
I found the knife, its blade splayed wide
The tell tale measure of your deed
My mind froze up, my soul then died
My life no longer mine to lead.
I lived for vengeance, day by day
My venom feeding on itself
While you went free, no sin to pay,
The blade lay open on the shelf.
I took the body, and the head,
and hid them in a place
where no one searches for the dead
Or now thinks back upon her face
You lived your life, and I lived mine
each indifferent to the other
Even friends from time to time
I often called upon your mother.
But this day waited, even then
for NOW to come about
I know today, I cant pretend.
The secret must come out.
His eyes begin to open, stare
A piercing blue so cold
A gaze as empty dull and bare
As plastic glasses growing old.
"To me she was nothing but a toy"
The muzzle presses closer still
"She meant nothing to this boy
I helped you grow! Until..."
I will not hear it! I fire at him
And watch the liquid spreading
He feels nothing now, my brother Jim,
The flow is great and soaks into the bedding.
Hah! I shout! Let this lesson fall
to those who think that childhood memories fade
I will avenge my Barbie Doll
Ill see your wicked debt is paid!
This poem, if you can call it that, is dedicated to my big brother who did indeed decapitate my Barbie doll 40 years ago, and MY gun was a water pistol. By the way, thanks Jim. I always hated that doll.
Epilogue and Morale: Sunday Morning
*****
From the enemy
She thinks she won the vengeance game
but Im the master here
just let me get my weapons out
and finish this last beer.
"O sister could you come outside?
Ive something in the garden
and a little note from me to you
begging for my pardon."
Right she thought, hes given up.
Finally admitted
That Im the better scrapper now.
Hes finally outwitted.
Still not trusting she tiptoed out,
Quiet stocking feet just shuffing
the polished kitchen floor in darkness
to see if he was bluffing.
He stood there on the deck in shorts
one arm extended paper white
she watched a moment then approached
OK she said, Ill bite.
Cmere he whispered, pointing toward
a corner left untended
"There by the bush, Look at that!"
..and then the pretense ended.
He flipped the switch on the sprinkler head
and leveled it at her chest
She was doused from head to foot
cold water drenched her Sunday best.
OK were done, she said at last.
But theres a moral yet to tell
Vengeance is a cheap cop-out
It is pay backs that are hell!
Barbie Speaks
I am plastic, and I am dead
My life is over. I ve lost my head.
The boys all looked at my great boobs
The silly fools, I thought them rubes.
Fashion sense
was mine to boast
but real sex?
my a*s*s was toast.
Still I had something even then....
I really was a Venus
Have you ever looked at stupid Ken?
He doesnt have a penis.
Did I say I was a poet?
No I did NOT!
