I see some George Carlin there too. If this essay gets attention, there is going to be a bunch of debate over nothing.

Did you know that if you got sucked into a black hole, a thing so powerful as to be able to alter space AND time, that a thing called "singularity," occurs, in which you cannot just disappear, but you'd be reduced to your absolute smallest form (they guess about the size of an atom). Even those can't create nothing.

And theories about antimatter skip right over "nothing," into a negative "something," not destroying it but undoing it to it's pre-created state, which is still something that's less than, and never equal to, nothing.

Ah well, you know what they say, "Nothing is impossible."

LOL !

This would make a great stand-up routine! Very George Carlin-esque.

It was neat.

The opposite of a poem I wrote once that stated in short:

At least a something is a something.
Whether it's a knot, a gnat or a gnu
Whether or not it has anything to do,
At least it's a something
Now ain't that some thing?

Two great minds run in opposite channels?
Which says exactly nothing!

LOL

You make it look like there was nothing to it... this writing thing is not only nothing, but no big deal as well.

Thanks for the smile, Shari

Filling a void (Reply to this comment)
by The_Canary
For some of us, nothing takes a while to accomplish. Sergeant Shultz on Hogan's Heroes gave us a lot of laughs because, as he always said: I know NUH-THING! Seinfeld was an entire television show on: It's about nothing. And, its been about six years for me to determine that I may have been doing nothing. Maybe.

And, anyone who has been unable to get to a bathroom in time understands the difference between filling a void and voiding a fill.

Well, today, it's safe to say that: Nuh-thing HAS made me smile.

Heya Rich,

This essay was of particular interest to me since I have been accused of having nothing in my brain. No wait! It wasn't nothing - it was cow excrement!

You can't get something for nothing!

Love,

I was gonna leave a comment, but nothing is coming to my mind. Then I realized that the nothing was really something, so I left it anyway. But it's still really nothing, nothing more, nothing less. Why do they say that anyway? They could just say the two things were equal, but then they have to bring nothing into it.

There's nothing left to think and there's nothing left to lose. That would be pretty scary if it were actually possible to lose nothing. To get all the way down to nothing, then to lose nothing itself.

But it's like they say, nothing ventured, nothing gained. See ya~
