Great list for kids - not too much Disney, and a smattering of other classics.

Oh, contre! Mermaid is probably my MOST favorite. My son doesn't like it as much as I do, but who cares. The music is energizing. I have the Soundtrack, and I put it on when I clean. That's a chore I hate doing ~ I need the extra punch in the arm to do it. Love Ariel's singing voice!

Kath Babe,

Yes yes...everybody missing the inclusion of Wizard of Oz. I hang my head in shame :).

Shannon Babe,

Teasing a chick in her comment section *can be* hazardous to your health!

Random Thoughts:
1) I like Wizard of Oz. The scary, flying monkeys are still creepy as ever. It would have made a Top 20 list.

2) I've never seen Dumbo gasp. I've never seen Dark Crysta gasp. I've never seen Bunnicula gasp. Ethan though, is reading a Bunnicula book...does that count?!

3) Mmmmm...jello shots...it's been awhile since I revisited that indulgence. If I puke tomorrow, it's ALL your fault.

4) I'm hangin' out with Davidk93 tomorrow...how cool is that?!

Much love, Kristina :)

Sheila Babe,

You know, I like Wizard of Oz, and if there was a Top 20 list, I would have included it. The creepy, scary, flying monkeys are kinda cool :). Kristina

Mary Babe,

I liked Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang and if I had a list of 20, that would definitely be in it.

Patrick Babe,

Fantasia is just one of those movies that had an effect on me as a child which is why I included it. It must be a generational thing though as my son is totally uninterested in it.

Liss Babe,

Yeh well, there's some mutual using going on - if I didn't have you, how could I possibly stay up on how to look beautiful??? Speaking of such, I found a new lip gloss :). Kristina

I had no idea Vin Diesel did the voice of The Iron Giant.... ya see, this is why I love to read your reviews. :) Though ok, I have issue that The Jungle Book didn't make your list, I can forgive since The Lion King did. ;)

The end? (Reply to this comment)
by st_patrick
I've never heard of that one. I guess it has to be good or you wouldn't have included it.

Seriously though, this is an excellent list. I especially love your inclusion of the under-rated "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory", a hilarious film with morals. I question though including "Fantasia", a terrific film that feels more adult oriented.

Regards,

Patrick

into so many other things as a child... The only film I remember from my childhood is "To Kill A Mockingbird". (And that's still one of my all-time faves.)

Of this list, I've only seen E.T. Am I deprived or what?!

I feel better having read this, though, as now I know some of what I missed. I intend on seeing "Finding Nemo," and probably "The Lion King," if that counts at all.

Keep them lists comin', baby, I like 'em!

I'm witha on the Willie Wonka & The Chocolate Factory thang. They won't recreate the magic, they'll just throw in a bunch of special effects, and make it look scrumdilicious.

I love your list, but also adore Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, and Chitty, Chitty Bang, Bang.

I have never seen The Iron Giant. I'll certainly check it out! Thanks!

Interesting list, but I would probably have included "The Wizard of Oz." Some may not consider it specifically a children's film, but I remember being enchanted by it as a child. Best wishes. Sheila

I've actually never seen Willy Wonka..at least not all of it. I did see part of it on tv about a year ago. I should probably rent it sometime.

I love The Little Mermaid. :)

Uhmmm babe -

Babity-babe-babe. No Wizard of Oz? No Dumbo? No Secret of Nimh? No Dark Crystal? No Bunnicula? No, no, no... *sniffle*

Okay, I'm all cried out, I must away to watch The Little Mermaid or at least Mad Monster Party and cheer myself up again. The slumber party is off until you can find some decent kids movies to sufficiently lull me into a false sense of security. Oh and Jell-O shots work well too. ;)

Haven't seen some of these, but should. Ice Age was awfully cute too. I'm curious about Secret Garden since I loved the book.

Very cool list ya got here! By the time I was 12, I could recite the entire script of both Willy Wonka and E.T. I hope the Willy Wonka remake doesn't mess it up too bad...

If anyone can remake Willy Wonka it's Tim Burton and Johnny Depp. I'm really interested in how that will turn out. I love the original, too, but I think the remake will be pretty good.

Nice list, although Sleeping Beauty has always been my favorite princess movie. :)
