| blackstar12's Full Review: Sharp MD MT15 MiniDisc Recorder |
I got my Mini-Disc player in Christmas 1999, and I must say that at the time it was pretty good. At the time, it was worth what my step-dad paid for, but now it is getting too big compared other portable Mini-Disc Players.
I've seen some of the new Sony Recorder/Players that are coming out and they are about half the size of the MD-MT15 and come with remotes...this one doesn't. Also, after about 1 year of usage, the screws on the the began to come loose. Right now, I am missing a screw on the side. The thing still plays music fine, but the opening and closing gets a little funny sometimes. The quality of the battery compartment door is also quite questionable. Although the whole thing is metal, this door remains plastic with silver paint. On my player, the door started to bend after a year of drops, spills and falls. The battery compartment works fine, but it just looks a little weird.
All in all, this player works fine if you just want a no frills MD player for your car. But if you are going to be carrying this thing around a lot (jogging, traveling), I would not suggest this player as it is too big and falls apart with relative ease.
