Outrageously slow and unresponsive to e-mail

I placed an order on Sept. 5th, they charged my credit card on Sept. 7th. It is now December 17th and the New Yorker (a gift subscription) has not been delivered. An e-mail I wrote to them 12 days ago was answered today, saying the subscription will begin between Jan. 12th and Jan. 30th, and referred me to their website where it says that weekly subscriptions will generally begin 4-6 weeks after they are placed, as though that somehow explained the 4 month delay.... Never again. I am protesting to my credit card company and ordering directly from the New Yorker.
