Wow, what a process!! (Kenmore Side by Side w/accelerator ice)

The Bottom Line Don't jump on the first refrigerator you see, be very picky and specific in your needs, and get the extras YOU WANT. You deserve it! Have fun!
Well, it all started when my old refrigerator started freezing milk, the crisper drawer cracked and so on and so on... It was time to do my search.. I have been to store after store and they are all starting to look the same, I am trying not to make a hasty decision.. I have measured and measured again to make sure I have gotten all the details down. Which one shall I buy? My advice to all who is in the market is to definitely take your time and make sure it has all the extras you want. I want a side by side and ice and water in the door. We drink a lot of water and the side by side's have water filters to filter the water to make it drinkable. That is a definite PLUS on my list. I will save money by not having to buy cases of bottled water anymore, and my children, I am sure will drink more water because it will be so much fun getting the water themselves.. My choice was limited to space, so I chose the Kenmore, Coldspot side by side with through the door ice service 21.9 cubic feet. I wish I could have chosen a bigger one but the spot where the fridge goes was not big enough. I am happy overall with the choice of refrigerator I chose, but the store I bought from I am not so happy. The delivery became my worst nightmare! I measured correctly in my kitchen and the doorways but forgot to measure the top of my stairs (my bad!!) to my house. So when the delivery men get here, they take one look at the long stairway and tell me that it will not fit, but if I cut the rod iron gate at the top of my stairs it will. So my husband cut the gate, I rescheduled for the next day, well these 2 delivery men come and I see their faces as soon as they walk up, "I am sorry mam' but it won't fit, you're going to have to get a smaller refrigerator." I said, "No way, it will fit, measure it, the men were here yesterday and told me if I cut this gate off, we will have the clearance needed, all you have to do is take the doors of the fridge off and up we go..." so I thought.. No! I needed 29 1/2" and I had 30" at the top of my stairs, a tight fit but can be done.. I tell them, "Come on let's do it there is room." The overweight man with a bad back, so he told me he had a bad back already and was not doing it.. the younger man with him says, "I would do it but he says NO!" So the delivery guy calls customer service and as I am talking to her, he leaves, drives away. Well I am not a happy camper so I am telling her that it will fit, that you have a lazy employee that does not want to work hard, very nicely, after 2 supervisors, they say ok. we will send them back and attempt to get it up the stairs.. So, 2 hours go by and they come back and they make it up the stairs, NO PROBLEM!! They got it in and they brought my old refrigerator down the stairs.. I am happy now, but I don't believe that I should have had to beg them to come back!! Now I am wondering if I should have gone with a smaller store with better customer service? I bought the Kenmore with the accelerated ice, which means it makes a batch of ice in about 20 minutes which is a great feature, one that I am very pleased with. No more frozen milk. Very happy with the purchase of my new refrigerator. It is also very quiet.
