Rush Staples Center September 23,2002

The Bottom Line The band proves they are masters of music.Protectors of Good against Evil

This is my first time to see Rush live.
The show had taken place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles California.This was also my first time to the Staples Center.It had a well designed seating structure. The temperature control was good for as many people that had attended the concert (full house).The arena stayed cool.This added to the rush concert experience.

The band had commented it had been a long time since they were in California.They remember a good following with fans from California.They opened with the three stooges on the video screen behind them.Linking the three band members As they started out with Tom Sawyer.It showed the capability of performance that we were in store for tonight.

I was thrown back into the time of air guitar and drums. The members moved better than expected and the sound was as good and tight as off their hit albums of seventeen.

They jammed with you. Made you feel and want to do something other than just sit there.Air Guitar and drum time.The sound boomed out intelligently for this is the group for the thinking man.Can you try to play an keep up with them.

Lot's of old loyal fans were there to show support dancing and being wild. I could only think of the first Beetle's concerts for the screaming of the crowd. My wife had to plug her ears from applause and orderly rampage from the crowd around us in this packed arena.

I plan to be ready for the next one when they come to town. The staples center is the best place for a concert. Air conditioning and no rain.

The band played new songs from Vapor Trails(Just released in May2002).
to the Working Man song;from way way back to their first albums.
They played some quiet songs and Joked around a bit.They had an excellent light show on ceiling for the whole show for zoning.
The wide video screen behind the band helped for those who had far away seats in another galaxy.You could get in close and personnel with the band members as they performed.

The band is excellent! Go see them for yourselves.Well worth the effort to see.
