interesting... (Reply to this comment)

I tried to do something like this recently (take a look if you want) but I realsise I've missed out some major genres here. Mr Deeds? I assumed that was rubbish, might check it out now. I totally agree about when harry met sally.

. . . you listed Meet Me In St. Louis! This is my all-time favorite old classic! I absolutely love the scene where Judy Garland sings Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas in that beautiful red dress. Her's is the only version of that song that I care to listen to. No one else does it justice.
Great list!

I enjoyed the diversity of genres in this review. As always, it was well-written.

Interesting choices (Reply to this comment)
by artbyjude
as unique as the writer of the review. I think we all have our special movies, and few if any of these are on my personal list. But I didn't write a 10-best review, so I guess I have no fair comments to offer-except, Have you considered therapy ?
of course I'm kidding. But these are some interesting choices, and unexpected. Goldfinger? Are you sure you are OK? Jude

Couples don't always agree on movies, silly. They're different people who find compromises. I wouldn't force any movie on someone I loved!
Haven't seen either of those movies, but I'll look for them. ;-)

Some people don't get into the fantasy-like style. That's why you've got choices! ;-)

Moulin Rouge did . . . (Reply to this comment)

. . . nothing for me. [Well, I must admit that Nicole is easy on the eyes.]
When Harry Met Sally, on the other hand, is a film I could watch every month.
Nice posting, Jan.

Interesting list! I do get tired of the old standbys at Holiday time.
When I read the paragraph on the Hiding Place, I was reminded of when I saw Corrie Ten Boom in person in a Phoenix Area church. She was so tiny, and so charismatic. She held the audience in the palm of her hands, her thick accent barely noticed, as we marveled at the wonder of a tiny woman who could do such great things.
Great list, Jan
